I was a volunteer here and have been for atleast five years before they implemented the electronic volunteer sign in system. I was assigned court ordered community service hours solely for this company and volunteering was going well. I did everything asked by the employees. Never did an employee come up to my face and say hey dont do this or that. I noticed a lot of the employees were very lazy and did not care about the store or maintain the store very well but counted on the volunteers to do all the work. I had this store in particular put me to work very hard during community service. I was not use to being in a filthy warehouse inhaling dusty constantly and when I wanted to take a break, ****** a warehouse manager, said Get Up! You cant drink water right now. I have work for you to do. You can take your break later. I was exhausted after hauling old carpets around after a few hours and not only that, my hands were cut up. I asked for band aids and was ignored and never given any. I told him I wanted to take my break now and he was always constantly checking on me like I wasnt working? It was quite annoying.I was so dirty leaving the store. I noticed they never greeted or said goodbye to any of the customers but only spoke Spanish to the Spanish speaking customers. Which only is unprofessional, lazy but rude to the surrounding staff and volunteers not understanding what the conversations are going around. I came back a few weeks later and was told I couldnt volunteer here anymore because I had several complaints. For what? Making the staff look bad? I asked for examples and they couldnt provide any. They said my attitude. Im here to volunteer! Habitat for humanity does not have many volunteers as it is but but then saying you cant come back? I filed a police report as well. This store needs a serious investigation and reality check. I actually enjoyed at times working here talking to customers but lying about my behavior is not honorable.
