I parked in a parking lot in Fayetteville that I have parked in over 20 times without ever having to pay for. There was no sign in front of the parking spot I pulled into and there was no meter near the parking area that I was parked in. My husband went inside to get a pickup order from a restaurant and left his card in the car. I went inside the business to give him the card, less than 30 feet, from my car to give him his car. After walking out, not two minutes later, there was a boot on my car with a woman writing a ticket. She put the ticket and boot on my car as I walked up (the ticket had no date and time on it in the spot for such) and told us to pay the $40. This seems like a scam to me, as we have parked here many, many times and have never had this happen. We unhappily pay for the boot to be removed so we can go home. I ask the woman multiple times who she works for or a number I can call to confirm she is legitimate, she refuses to give any information, not her name, not a business to contact , or even a phone number to call. After leaving, I call the number on the ticket and ask who I am speaking to. It is Annette ******** (the person who put the boot on our car and took it off). I proceed to ask who she works for, if she can give me any information about who owns the lot, the company she works for, ANYTHING. She refuses and proceeds to tell me that I "don't under stand how the world works" and that I "am uncapable of understanding how anything works" all while I am simply trying to get basic information from her. She then hangs up on me and I am never able to get any information whatsoever. This was absolutely ridiculous and completely unprofessional and I still feel as if I have been scammed out of $40, for getting out of my car for less than 2 minutes.
