I have a ***** C1500 **** I contacted *********************** the co-owner and told him that I needed to have my engine rebuilt it had over 287K miles and that I thought that it had thrown a rod. As I was driving down the street it ran rough, so I immediately called ***** the owner to tell him, he said it maybe from the techs washing the motor and I'm thinking who does that with out covering the electrical parts that can get wet.. The next day the engine light popped on. I went to AutoZone to do a diagnostic check and showed a P300 code. I called ***** . He said to get it back to him so the Tech could run their on check. I told him that I would get over there if I could, if not it would be the next day, so on the 20th I called ***** to asked him when would it be a good time to come by and he said that a tech was out come by after 2pm. I got to the shop at 2:23 and saw ***** outside he came over to truck I popped the hood and listened to what I was hearing & feeling, he ask if I was going to leave it and I said no. I asked how long would they need it to diagnose the problem, he said a couple of hrs. maybe 4. I said that I would wait for it. He called me inside and by that time the owner ***** came out and asked me what was going on, I told him, he said ok and walked off. The the owner calls me to the counter and tells me that I need to leave it. I asked him for how long? he says for 2-3 DAYS!! I said no, that is not what ***** told me and that I did not like the way they kept my vehicle while it was here. I told them that this is the reason that I did not want to pick it up too early fearing that it would not be fixed properly, he proceeded to tell me that they did not need anyone standing over them, I told him that ***** said they only needed a few hours not a couple of days, then he proceeds to tell me that I can take my business down the street and that he was not going to entertain me. So I left w/ no remedy. Please read ratings/reviews. USE a C Card for a remedy.Review from Pinkyp P

An old man I knew had a saying that went something like this.. "if it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck.... It maybe a duck" Just look at all the other reviews ladies and gentlemen. Don't do it. Not mad at the front staff, they are clearly underpaid and couldn't care less for your vehicle. Which is why they are stuck in the position they are in life. This post is for the future customer. It's never their fault no matter what the issue is. I was quoted 3k ended paying 6k when the new motor is 6k. The average joe can't afford such cost difference and what are you going to do then? Nothing but agree to pay. My vehicle lasted a week then it broke down, the dealership basically said they got you on that engine rebuild. Oh and don't be fooled by the warranty, i took it back after they charge me and extra $500 cause again never their fault LOL on something that completely didn't need to be replaced left the shop broke down yet again. Point of the matter is please me smart, sell the vehicle or buy new engine. Thats all. I believe in karma and that's all that matters. God bless.Review from Tyre F

After contacting multiple shops about my engine rebuilt, I came across Engine Rebuilders on Google search. I called and they said that they are the specialist when it comes to my specific motor. I asked if it was OK to drop off my engine complete and was told yes, and it would take 3-5 weeks to complete my engine rebuild... 6 weeks later, I get the call that my engine is ready. I meet my mechanic at the location, and they have my engine completely dismantled, the engine block is strapped to a wooden pallet and my engine parts are in cardboard boxes.... no explanation from Engine Rebuilders, just a " come this way to take of the ticket." My mechanic is mad, so I told him I would pay him extra to put it back together. We get to my mechanic's shop only to find parts missing, most of the parts were damaged or bent. (drive belt pulleys bent, distributor missing) Being this is a classic car, you just can't go to your local parts store for replacement, so I called Engine Rebuilders to let them know I'm missing parts and have parts damaged. David took my information and said he would talk with the crew who worked on my engine to locate the missing parts- I'm STILL WAITING FOR A CALL BACK!! The last straw, my mechanic gets everything put together, engine in the vehicle, ready to test start and all of the rocker arms were "hand tighten" not torqued to the vehicle's specs (70lb-ft)... You would think you would get better service, after spending $4,000.00 cash!!!! I wouldn't refer these guys to my worst enemyReview from Tiffany C

September 19, 2021 we took the engine out of our 2002 Chevy S10 and took it in to be rebuilt. When it was returned, it had extra pieces that did not belong to the type of engine that we have. Once it was reinstalled into the truck and running we found that the top of the engine had not properly been tightened and all fluids were leaking from around this connection. We got this remedied ourselves and then found that the head gaskets had not been replaced. Took it back to the shop and had to pay an additional $250 to have these replaced. On November 2 my husband was on his way home when the truck cut off and began spewing liquid from the engine. When it had cooled to a point he could inspect it to see what had happened he found a hole in the engine. Now the shop wants to charge more to have the warranty replace the engine and to have it towed in.Engine Rebuilders, LLC Response

When people read this review they know your lying or just don't know what your talking about. A lot of times people want to blame something else but definitely not themselves. We will warranty any engine as long as you don't abuse it till there's nothing left. Why didn't you turn the vehicle off? and really, old head gaskets? come on now......you have a warranty but no where in that warranty does it say you can abuse the engine and we fix it. If anyone would be interested in the real story your free to call us at XXX-XXX-XXXX and we can give you the real story. lies lies and more lies from these people.Customer Response

Can't exactly just turn the engine off when you are traveling on 75. As soon as the truck was in a safe position it was turned off. The truck was not abused as we are adults who have been driving for years. We know that with a new engine or one that has been rebuilt, you don't dog it, you take care, accelerate slowly, down run it wide open, and give it time to get broken in. Had the work been completed properly, the truck would not be in front of my home inoperable. I have consulted with another mechanic and was reassure that it lies with the rebuild. We bought it with the engine blown with plans of rebuilding or replacing the engine. Had rebuilding not been a viable option that should have been advised before taking our money.
