While I was at work and my wife and baby were at home, I asked this company to come by and see if they could fix my A/C unit that would not cool. Technician came over and started troubleshooting the problem. He called me and let me know he’s going to have to charge 1-2 lbs of freeon in system at $80/lbs. I said “oh ok that’s not bad.” (Thinking this was going to fix the problem.) When all was said and done he said the compressor was bad and there was nothing he could do. We got off the phone and he charged my wife $500. Come to find out he put more freeon in than I thought he would in order to troubleshoot. So we paid $500 for him to troubleshoot and not fix the problem. In fact, the next morning another technician from another company came by and told us not only is the compressor bad but there is too much freeon in the system. So we called the company and asked for a little bit of the money back bc I did not ever approve of using that much freeon nor do I think it’s ok to charge $500 and not fix anything, but make the situation worse. The house actually got hotter and more humid after he added more freeon. However the technician called me back from the company and said that adding that much freeon is just part of the troubleshooting. So I am to believe that the average person can just afford $500 on the spot for someone to tell them there’s nothing they can do with their A/C. I feel taken advantage of because I was not there. If I would have known that there was a possibility of me spending $500 and it not fixing the problem I most definitely would have not let him use his troubleshooting methods. They could have given something/anything back but they chose not to. That’s why they are getting reported.
