My experience with Mike at Gulf Coast Landscaping started out well, but ended badly. Mike did not perform the landscaping quality he showed me on the bid he presented at the beginning. His quality of work was poor his attitude was unprofessional. He did not deliver what he promised. He cut corners by not providing the landscaping material I was charged for; he gave me plants dug up from a yard instead of nursery quality because weeds started growing out of the middle of the plants. I had weeds sprouting and thriving out of the landscaping beds he made. Several of my sprinkler heads were totally covered up with landscaping cloth upon installation of everything. I had to call him to bring it to. his attention as he never did a test to be sure everything was installed correctly. He also mowed my yard and now I have a yard full of weeds that I never had before. His crew totally scalped my Bermuda grass in several places and when I told him about it, his reply was "It's just grass!!" We made an agreement for future work for which I gave him a brand new Weber Genesis II grill in exchange for paying for part of the work. When my plants started dying that he had planted and I put it all together, I decided to suspend his services. He kept the grill, valued at $1300 and never even mentioned returning it or paying for it. His parting words to me in a text, were "you are so wrong on so many levels". "God Bless". He never accepted the fact that he had done anything wrong or took advantage of me financially. I have had to hire a new landscaper and pay him to undo the work that Mike and his crew did. That is where I discovered a lot of examples of his cutting corners and not performing the work I paid for. It is now costing me again what I paid him which was over $5000.00 to undo his mistakes and deficits. I am so embarrassed that I trusted him. He proved to be a different person in the end than what I was led to believe at the beginning. His character and judgement are impaired. I would never consider hiring his company as in my experience he is dishonest, rude, condescending, unprofessional and unethical. I don't think his business will thrive much longer. Beware.
