BUYER BEWARE (photos of conversations and quality of work attached)! ***** signed up for a job he should never had accepted. Him and his "*****" were not qualified to be doing this job. We were wanting to redo our mantle and the surrounding of our fireplace with ***********************. ***** came out for a quote and originally quoted us $3,700. After my husband and I told him this was over our price range and took out our original mantle and hearth ourselves, he said he would be willing to do it for $2,000 and we agreed. We paid our 50% deposit immediately. Because the "*****" works a full time job during the week, they were only available to come on the weekends. We were totally fine with that. The first and only weekend they came, they were repeatedly later than they told us they were going to be (again no biggie, we are patient). Well after they finish with the stone work (Sunday and also it had absolutely no mortar) we express our concerns with the edges of the fireplace being extremely wonky and how the hearth is completely unlevel. They told us when they came out to do the mortar (Tuesday was when they us they were going to come) it would make everything look square and level. They did not put any protection down on our floors and because of this our floors are scratched and have bonding agent inside the natural ******. ***** specifically told ***** not to clean our floors and we would do it. Fast forward to Tuesday afternoon, and I reach out asking when they are going to show up, and I get told they aren't going to make it. We go out of town, and ***** sets up for them to come on Sunday. However, this does not work for our schedule due to graduations, so he says they will come out on Monday morning (Memorial Day). On Monday at 8:30 I ask what time they will be headed our way, and I get told at 9:30 that ***** is coming from **********. Three hours go by and we hear nothing. Finally after texting ***** twice, he says ***** is not answering his text messages, and then says he's dealing with a family emergency. After the lack of professionalism and poor quality of work, we let them know we will no longer be needing their services. We have another ***** come out and see what it will cost to fix their attempt at stonework. The ***** let us know that they did not cut the stone the right direction (they used a hammer and grinder to cut the stone) and so not much of it is actually salvageable. We message ***** and ask for a refund to make right on their mistakes, and we never hear back from him. This was extremely disappointing because all we were wanting him to do was attempt to do right by us and what he agreed to do.

the customers rescheduled our date to come and finish the project. they did not allow us to finish the job. see screenshot from text and before and after photos. we also used drop cloths. the customer requested to "cut losses and find someone else to finish the fireplace" without letting ** come back to perform the job. we can't provide a refund as we used it to purchase the *********************** and material for the job. the stone had been cut and stacked.  they had leftover stone in the garage.

Please don't book any services with this man - Vincent or his company - Smokey Fireplace & Chimney. On 6/29/22 he came to our home on a very simple task and tampered with our gas regulator valve while taking a video for social media. He turned the gas regulator valve to increase the flame ***without my permission*** for a "great social media video post". When my husband got home from work, he said he smelled gas. It was faint, but he smelled gas. On 6/30 I called ****** and they came out immediately and confirmed it was in fact a gas leak in the fireplace. On 7/1 I confronted him about the damage to the gas valve he lied and said he did not touch it. I have him on camera touching the valve and taking a video for his social media page. We have called him several times and no answer. Just beware. Our family could have suffered gas contamination. I have waited for several weeks for him to contact us and make it right. On 7/18/22 we booked with ************************** and they confirmed he tapered with the gas regulator valve. This is never to be touched unless during testing and diagnostics. Because it had "High" or "Low" on the valve he misunderstood it was for controlling the flame. Another key point to add is the flame must remain a certain height. You are never to have a high flame height with a gas fireplace. High flame does not mean, more heat. Lord have mercy...I am just glad we got it resolved. I hate to be dramatic, but our house could have blown up with us in it. Gas Leaks are extremely dangerous. We paid this individual $425.00 dollars for these services.
