I own a Ford 2016 Ford Edge brought new with only 26,000 miles on the car. The oil is changed regular every 3-5 months at McRee Ford in Dickinson Tx. On November 13th I drove this car 80 highway miles and the car ran flawless and smoothly as a new car. On the next morning November 14th, I got in car and backed it up 15feet out of the garage. The check engine light can on and stated check service manual for assistance on hill side driving and the car stopped running and would not start. I had to call wrecker to haul in to McRee Ford motor company. After a week later McRee Ford called stating that my car had a blown engine and needed a new one at the cost of 3000.00 plus labor 3000.00. They stated the timing chained had skipped and bent valves and pistons beyond repair. I asked how possible when not even driving the car only backed up car 15feet out of garage and check engine light stated check service manual for assist on hill side driving. The service personnel stated I can only tell you what the technician is telling me. I did not want to pay 6000.00 to repair plus was not going to pay another wrecker to pick up and take to another Ford company. I was in shock and asked well can I get trade in and was told car not running needed new engine don't know if possible. I then decided to go ahead with repairs but very unhappy. I have since talked with mechanics at other dealerships who don't want to have name mention because of reprisal still working with dealerships and they tell me it is impossible to have a blown engine just backing car out of garage and not driving period. **The new engine will be in my car, and I agree to pay for the new engine even though I do not now believe possible to have blown engine just backing car out of garage! The resolution I am asking for is that the Labor Charge to install new engine be split 1/2 back to McRee Ford. See how McRee Ford treats customers
