I lived in ******* from Dec 2022 to July 2023 for military service. I currently live in ************, **************. I believe that I was sold a car from a dealership in *******, ***** that has a falsified title and the owner gave me a fake CarFax report as well. The vehicle was advertised as a clean title and none of my paperwork I received would indicate anything to the contrary. My leinholder is USAA. They also stated that they have a clean title on record. The car dealer is Premier Auto, the owner is ***********************************.For purposes of brevity, this all came to light because I got into an accident, causing cosmetic damage to my car. I made an insurance claim and took it to Caliber Collision in ************. On 4/3/2024 I got a call from them stating the car had serious previous damage in the same area I damaged and they absolutely will not touch the vehicle as far as any repair. I called USAA at this point who stated that the Caliber technicians said "the car looks like it is being held together with bubblegum". I looked up the CarFax myself, and it stated that the car was sold to ******************** after being totaled and was sold at a "junk/salvage" auction. I reached out to the dealership who told me they gave me a car with a clean title. I have screenshots of this conversation. I then requested the original paperwork they had on file for me and ******************** was unable to provide that documentation. I also have correspondence with ******************** acknowledging that the vehicle was salvage/junk and that he gave me a clean title. He stated that "a salvage title does not mean anything, it is just an insurance term". I believe that ******************** intentionally filed the new title as a clean title instead of a salvage or rebuilt title. I paid the price for a fully functioning, clean title vehicle to his dealership and was completely unaware of the previous damages. The price I paid was nearly the ****** Blue Book value, and now I cannot sell not repair it.
