On January 13, 2023 my son arrived to his appointment for a tooth distraction at **** Dental. Prior to the visit about 3 month before on our six month teeth cleaning, I had provided the office with our updated insurance which was primary cigna and secondary tricare. The day of the appointment my husband asked if they needed the insurances and they stated not needed were on file. They also charged my husband a deductible of $256.40 that day of the tooth distraction. I thought it was odd because I have two insurances. I decided to call them and they responded with they will send me my refund after both insurances have paid. One month later I called and nothing was done. My husband went personally to speak to the owner and explain the situation. The paper that was shown to my husband was dated that the secondary was billed a month later the day after I called to follow up. I keep following up on the status but every time I was given different answers. When I received my summary of benefits through both insurances and I called the insurance to explain the claims both insurance stated my out of pocket would be a difference of $14.00 dollars. I tried communicating with billing department at **** Dental and now the response is that billing is done online. I also tried having my primary call them and they were able to get through. I received a call from **** Dental to pick up my check. My refund is $56.99. I tried to explain to the ladies at the desk and they could not give me any answer and to call the billing during the day before 3pm. I called and I get the run around, at some point I had tricare call with me on three way and they responded with billing is no longer done here everything is done online. I have my summary of benefits through both insurances and even if I were to use only one insurance I would have to pay less that what I was charged. After cigna claim, my out of pocket is $69.80. I know they charged me more than I should have been charged with two insurance.
