Buyers beware!! I bought a new construction back in January of 2022 and after $137k worth of damages later we come to find out carefree homes never fully finished the home and then has an inspector sign off on it without properly inspecting. there was an A/C drip pan in the attic that they never finished, and so water was flooding throughout for over a year. weve had Carefree home out multiple times and each time they did nothing to fix it. ** ***** ***** ***** ******* *** ***** *** *** ******** **** ** ********** **** **** ** ** ********** ***** even after proving them at fault they still refuse to rectify the situation. ** ********* ******** * *** **** **** **** **** ** ******** ** *** **** **** * **** * ** *** *** **** ****** ** **** ******* ******* *******CarefreeHomes does an amazing job living up to the name. ****, lack lustered building with no care in trying to make a situation right.* **** **** ******* ** ******* **** **** * ****** **** ****** ****** * **** **** ***** **** ***** ******* ***** ****** ************* *** **** **** ***** *** ******* **** *** ********CareFree Homes Response

Thank you for taking time to share your feedback. We want to assure you that we take your concerns very seriously. Currently, we are working closely with our insurance company. Carefree Homes received a subrogation demand letter from ****** Weihmuller ******************* law firm. The subrogation demand letter is regarding a claim/loss paid out by Progressive Homesite for the loss that occurred at 4599 ***********************************. The information regarding the loss and subrogation demand was forwarded to ******************* who provides our general and product liability insurance. Weve been advised that Mid-Continent received the information and will be investigating the claim/loss. In addition, ******************* stated that they would be in contact with ****** Weihmuller ******************* as well as you, the homeowner. Carefree Homes is doing everything it can to find a resolution. At this time, this is all the information we have.Review from Tonya D

I recently bought a house with carefree homes to be exact we signed on September 29, 2023. The floor plans are beautiful but the construction was a nightmare we had issues from the time the framing of our house was put up. They kept telling us things were taken care of up until the day we signed. We went through our final walk through and the house was still dirty and things still needed to be fixed and when we asked about it they said yes everything will be done before we sign. I regret believing what they said. Here it is ***** of 2024 and we are still waiting for repairs to be completed. Mind you they have been here several times to do the repairs and the first time they came they were late and made a big mess and it looked worse than it did before they started. Then when we finally got them to come out again to fix the mess, they made they fixed it but did not complete the job. They said they would be back to seal what they did and my husband waited but they never showed back up to this day. Nor did they redo the caulking that they removed to repair the tile. The paint droppings are still on my front porch that ****** said he had already cleaned which he did not. ****** says a lot but he is not a man you can take at his word. Several times I had to take off work which I thought would be a couple hours ended up being almost the whole day because they didn't show up on time. Then one time I took time off work to be home and when they finally came all they did was clean up the mess that the last people did and did not fix nothing which they had me believing they were going to do that day. So much time missed from work and the work is still not complete. I would think twice before buying from carefree and if you do I would ask for another final walk through the same day before you sign, Do not sign until all work is done even the little stuff. I also think you should make as many trips as you can while they are building. They try to hide alot of thingsReview from Crystal M

Their attention to quality and craftsmanship is evident throughout our new home. Thank you, Carefree Homes, for creating our dream home!Review from Valerie G

We've been living in our new CareFree home for almost two years and we love it! This was our second purchase from CareFree, and this is definitely our Forever Home. ***** at the design studio gave us so many options to customize our colors, and the sales reps felt very invested in us and our home. *** *** *** sent us constant updates and photos and provided excellent service. All of our family and friends complement us on our style and home and we tell everyone we can who built our two homes!Review from James S

***** ** I purchased a home from Carefree in El Paso, February 2021. Finding out I must move, we had a home inspection done for the new buyer. The inspector stated there is heavy foam in the attic and no ventilation fans (they had been spayed over with foam), Exhaust flue and combustion air vent tie in as one. No combustion air getting to unit when unit is running, and Heater wiring and hoses prevent installing cabinet panel, Unit improperly installed. When I called Carefree warranty department, they stated that they only had a one year warranty (Which my contract says it's actually two). They refused to do anything. These are issues that occurred while building this house. **** *** **** *** ** *** ***** ****** ***** *****. Stay away from Carefree. **** *** ***** ***** *********Review from Jaime R

We visited the model homes and loved the space and design. We chose a lot but were told it was taken already (one without the huge electric box). This is about 10 months later and there still isn't anything built on that particular lot. It sits right next to where we landed ** **** * ******** ******** ** *** ** **** ******. As far as designing and upgrading, I pointed out to Carefree that all of their two-story homes in El Paso have a window in the upstairs bathroom. Heck, the bathroom has the window in the "Segovia" virtual model online. Guess what the answer?? Nope, you have to pay for a window if you want one there...so we did. (Watch all future Segovia models have a window in that upstairs bathroom). Construction delays...yes but why wouldn't there be right? It's somehow still related to covid I suppose. So, we had waited some 8 months four our home to finally be completed and we get scheduled for our final walk-throughs. As we're conducting our walk-throughs they are painting and installing our shower tiles! Our shower glass...on both showers, wasn't installed until 2-3 weeks AFTER we had closed and moved in. One more for ya', our garage was not painted. When we asked we were told Carefree does not paint garages. Yet, all these home garages being built around us are actively being painted. Porque??? If there is any accountability, sense of pride, call it what you want, on the part of carefree, they will contact me immediately and rectify the garage paint situation. We will forgive the lot, the window, the delays...but they will have to initiate contact *** **** *** *****. ***** *** **********.Review from Don C

I purchased a Carefree home in El Paso, TX in September 2019. Aside from the size of the home (which is great) the quality of the build is not that good. The carpeting started bunching up bad, to the point I will have to replace it. Carefree sent a superintendent and the carpet vendor and all they did was staple the carpet to the floor. What a mess, now there are many spots where you can see it is stapled. The kitchen window leaks bad during rain, they found nothing wrong, but it keeps leaking. Tile grout through the floors is cracking and chunks coming out in some places, I watched their flooring team, and they did not apply any grout sealer and I was told they do not do that. Outdoor drip irrigation water valve froze during winter (not wrapped properly) and burst and was expensive to repair. The stucco is cracking so bad I have had to pay to get it repaired, I was told the stucco layer is very thin and will continue to crack over time in the heat. I did call to see if they would help and was told, sorry, the warranty is expired and cannot help. * ***** ** **** ** ***** **** **** ****** *** ** *** **** * *** *** They do not back their product *** * ** **** ******* **** ******* * **** ** ****** **** *** ******** ******** *********** *******. Avoid carefree. **** *** ***** ********* **** * **** ****** *** ******** ************ My picture window had condensation inside and was asked to reach out to ****** ******* * * **** *******. After 9 weeks of waiting for the issue to be resolved my window is now growing mold. I continue to reach out to ****** ******* and they can only tell me its in progress. Ive been calling carefree as well to help resolve this issue since they contracted ****** ******* and they are also unwilling to assist. After having seperate contractors come out to the home for quotes it was determined that the seal was compromised from poor material and windows and it will eventually happen to all my windows. 1 window will cost me $1,200 im scared to know what it would be to replace all Of them.Review from Julie V

I bought a home through Carefree in UT. Since purchasing the home there have been issues with the framing (large seems in the ceiling), windows (leaks), and a tile in the bathroom that cracked. I attempted to get these issues fixed through the 1 year warranty they provide. I bought in March of 2021 and it’s been over a year now of trying to get the work completed correctly. They came to fix the tile in the bathroom and used an incorrect product to replace the grout that never dried, the ceiling was plastered and painted which looked terrible and soon after started to crack, they redid it a second time and the plaster is visible after one coat of paint and that was sufficient to them, one of the windows has still been left to be repaired. **** **** ** ** ******* ********* ****** **** * *** **** *** The latest warranty employee I dealt with was helpful in the beginning but also felt it was reasonable to leave the ceiling with visible plaster. When asked to take a look at the window he gave me the run around for two weeks. Then sent me a very condescending text message after I expressed my frustration about the ceiling. After that exchange he sent me a photo through text with the warranty protocol and told me I can go through that process to get the repairs completed! This is after already going through that process! So now I’m left at square one. Worst customer service and warranty people I have ever dealt with. **** *** ******** **** ** **** *** ******* **** ********** ******* ******** ********** *** ** ************* *** **** **** ** * ***** ********* **** * ***** Needless to say I am very disappointed in the company and the follow through to help with issues their homes have.Review from Alexis D

My AC unit is not properly cooling, and I have reach out to the warranty department many times, and they send the HVAC technician to which he said there's nothing wrong with the unit and said that probably the filters are dirty to which didn't make sense because the house is literally 2 weeks old and they try to tell me I needed to buy the filters, but carefree associate ******* bought the filters saying that's unacceptable to which calm me down, because that was a nice gesture, but week after week AC lines keep freezing over causing the unit not to cool at all, I reach out to warranty again and say they will send someone the following day, I accepted but told them it cannot pass that day because it is 91 degrees inside and I have 3 small children and that is unacceptable, the following day HVAC techs came and saw the unit was frozen and say they couldn't do anything and left saying they will come back tomorrow* * **** ****** *** *** ** *** ***** ** ********* ** *** * **** **** *** ***** ************ ** *** *** ***** ****** ******* **** ** ******** ********** *** ********
