      Exactly one week ago on Tues January 3, 2023 I paid "Gabriel" of Gabriel & Sons, the sum of (Nine Hundred Dollars) $900.00CASH, in the form of eighteen (18) $50.00 bills for sheetrock work for which he was hired on Fri Dec. 30, 2022. $900 is the sole amount quoted to me by Gabriel on Fri Dec 30, 2022. On the last day of work there were problems. 3 workers were left alone by Gabriel (*****, ******* and another youth), Gabriel told me to pay "*****" when done and he left the premised. I felt horrified to see sloppy work. Corrections were made. I anxiously phoned Gabriel to return. On that last day Tue Jan. 3, 2023 I paid Gabriel $900CASH in the driveway of my address. Then Gabriel shocked me with "You owe $125 for roof work remember I told you?" NO he did not (for plugging up source of moisture from roof causing minor bubbling of paint in small spot in corner of sheetrock replaced). The sole quote given was $900.00 all-inclusive. Feeling badly I reluctantly paid $125 in check, leaving PAYEE line on check "blank" as instructed. Gabriel's words, "Remember I told you?"-- are deceiptful, untruthful and unethical. $125 was never quoted nor alluded to. WHAT I WANT: (1) a receipt for $900CASH its content to include date, my name, address, costs of raw materials and labor for receipt total, proof CASH received and any warranty. (2) I want the return of $125 because not valid and rather like a last-ditch effort for more money. I requested receipts on 01/03/2023 from Gabriel that he said he would provide but unstead that he has ignored. Deceipt and lack of integrity are not appreciated. There was no "quality control." There was no paperwork by Gabriel therefore no record of transaction that is wrong. I felt safe and secure with a BBB A+ rating on Gabriel & Sons. I was wrong. I am ********************, a senior in 70's age bracket. I am a senior financially exploited.

      My current complaint #******** that I filed on 1/10/2023, has been answered by BBB-*******.  I am complainant *************************** of *******, for whom Gabriel and Sons did horrible work for me.  The matter is pending awaiting business' answer.

       

      I would like to know upon what criteria the business has an A+ rating from you! -- the reason I chose the business that has screwed me.  

       

      I now complain about YOU BBB-*******.  I feel like contacting your higher *** to describe how you misled me.  On this day I searched Gabriel and Sons, also Gabriel and Daughter and Sons, that Gabriel informed me he is also known as.  What I found are scathing one-star reviews on him that are horrifying and horrible, the same as Gabriel was horrifying to me.  It seems to me that the man should be arrested and locked up for theft, deception and dishonor.  The reviews I found mimick my complaints exactly.  I ask you BBB-*******, 

       

      Where do you come off attaching an A+ to Gabriel and Sons, who has screwed me royally?  

       

      In my complaint there was not enough room for necessary detail for me to write.  I feel like writing a second complaint.

       

      I am considering poorly reviewing you BBB-******* to your higher ***, for a downright lie of an A+ rating that should be an "F."

       

      I am considering filing a second complaint on the business, for the return of half of the $900CASH I paid Gabriel himself, because on this date I have learned my cost to "correct" Gabriel's work will be $500.  

       

      Go to your own website BBB-*******.  Locate the six (6) reviews dated 4-22-23 by ************ 1-star, 7-24-2002 by ************ 1 star, 6-5-20 by ************ 1-star, 6-6-20 by **************** 1-star, and, 2-21-20 by ********** 1-star, containing statements on Gabriel of Gabriel of Gabriels & Sons like:

       

      "Please help me get this job finished."

      "Its been 2 weeks since Gabriel promised repair and still no show."

      "Don't make the mistake I did by hiring Gabriel."  "He is NOT reliable nor trustworthy."

      "My wife is still in tears over how dishonest he is."

      "Just a nightmare!  Bottom line don't deal with these folk or give them a cent!"

       

      HOW DARE YOU BBB -******* mislead we consumers with the unworthy A+ rating on Gabriel & Sons that should be an "F-."  How dare you abuse consumers' trust. I shall never again try to locate a business via BBB.  I shall shout out my experience.

      In answer to your 02/15/23 Message, the complaint has NOT been resolved.  I have received ZERO communication from Gabriel & Sons.

       

      I remain offended by BBB's A+ Rating on Gabriel & Sons.  It is not warranted to a company that has done poor and sloppy work, Gabriel did not supervise the work done by inexperienced youths, there are no "Sons,"  and Gabriel & Sons owes me $124.00 for Gabriel's overcharge.  Please be reminded that Gabriel provided no paperwork whatsoever!  I received no initial contract quote on paper.  I received no receipt for the $900.00CASH that Gabriel took from me.  There is no description of work intended nor work completed on paper.

       

      Furthermore the work was not completed.  The patio ceiling the object of the work, remains unpainted.  Gabriel left paint on the job premises for paint completion.  This means I must hire a painter to complete Gabriel's work!  I do not want that man Gabriel on my property ever again.  The Gabriel who overcharged, who does not provide paperwork, who hires inexperienced youths, and who insulted me.  The man is NOT ***tanding.

       

      Again I say to you the matter has NOT been resolved.

       

      Please respond to this message within seven (7) days.  If not, there is no alternative for me but to file a further complaint to the appropriate higher *** within in the BBB organization.   

       

      Above all, the A+ Gabriel & Sons rating MUST BE REMOVED for the benefit of the general public, because A+ rating represents a good, correct and appropriate /vendor that Gabriel & Sons has proved NOT to be.  The A+ rating is grievously wrong and misleading proven to me.
