I reserved Hawkins ballroom in March 2021 for 15anr in July 9, 2022, I made payments monthly as required by there contract paying the amount of ******** until March 2022 when i had to cancel the event due to an emergency. I spoke then with ***** who told me that the money could not be refunded, however he would honor and give me a credit for another event in the future. ***** did not provide a timeframe for the credit to be used nor a date the event had to be booked. I reached out to him again November 2023 asking for the credit he had promised previous year. Nov 27,2023 I called him asking him about the credit for a 15 needed for Sep ****, he asked me to text him the information about the original contract.. On Tuesday 28th i texted him about the contract since he never answered my text. ***** stated he wasn't able to locate the contract nor any information. He asked for a copy of the contract and the original date information. I send him copy of the contract and all the payment receipts made Wed 11/29/2023, ***** never answered to my text that day. Thurs i texted him about the information i had send him, he questioned the sequence of the payments to the amount pending to pay. I explained to him the dates and the amounts on the images i send him. he aging did not answer me that day. In texted him again today Friday 12/1/2023 about the event asking me to call him. After i called him he basically told me he could not honor the credit he told me and that i needed to pay the full amount again for the new event. He stated that he could not book 2 events for me and that the amount i paid was lost. I explained to him I'll pay the remaining balance from the original. contract and the difference amount if prices have changed. ***** declined any options or solutions stating i would have to book and pay full amount again. All I'm asking for is to book another event and get credit for the amount that has been paid.

*********************** and her husband *********************** own several ballrooms in the *******, ** area. On February 3rd, 2020, I signed a contract for a Quinceanera event with owner ***********************. The event was scheduled for October 10th, 2020. A down payment of $500 + $3000 was made on the day the contract was signed. On May 20th, 2020, I reached out to *********************** to request cancelation of event due to the height and unknowns of the ***** pandemic. She was understanding of the situation and sent me a text with the following verbiage "save your receipts as you can use those for a future event." Fast forward to January 14th, 2023, when I reconnected to book a future event, I had a terrible experience. I will attach screenshots of the full story in detail, but here is a recap: *********************** was deceptive about who he was, stated the hall was under new ownership (*******), and gave a different name for his wife's number (******). This was all to avoid honoring a previous agreement with my money ($3500) held. According to my contract, it states "When canceling an event no monies will be refunded, deposits or monthly payments. At the managers discretion she or he will allow you to do another type of event at a later date and your full amount that you have paid will go towards the new date." I have the text where *********************** offered and allowed me to use my receipts for a future event. No time constraints or deadlines were given. ***** lied, and is trying to deviate from the agreement previously offered in order to keep my money. I have receipts, the original contract, text messages of the future event offer/agreement, and audio recording of the lies and mistreatment from *****. I will also be seeking legal action to recover amount owed to me, since they did not uphold their side of the deal.
