I was billed by **************** LLC for the amount of $624.25 on 10/23/23 for an Er visit in October 17, 2021. I thought it was unusual to receive a bill this late so I contacted the billing company via email to ask about the delay. I was told they were doing an audit of unpaid pills and i owed a balance of a deductible and copay after insurance was billed and if I wanted to avoid going to collections, I needed to pay the balance in full. I asked if I could pay in installments and they said yes. I paid my first installment of $208 on November 30, 2023. I then received a ******************* 8th for $970.12, which is over $300 more than the original bill. This made me question the validity of this bill and I believe its part of a scam. I received a call the same day from a ********** phone number with a robo call voicemail saying they needed my address for a physical bill. I called them back and left a voicemail asking why I was being charged more than the original bill. I tried calling the phone number from the text about the bill and there was no voicemail greeting which seemed odd. I looked up the business address and ER near lcc me is not listed at the business address. I looked up the phone number and found it was associated with this same report on BBB. I would like an investigation into the validity of this business and a refund. If it is valid I would like an explanation of charges.

Good morning *****- the Facility & Physician claims are billed separately. The Physician claim was billed to insurance and they put the full $624.25 to patient responsibility, with notes stating deductible amount. The $208.00 payment you made was posted to the Physician claim balance. Remaining amount due is $416.25. The facility claim was billed to insurance and BCBS paid a portion, and $553.87 was moved to patient responsibility due to deductible not being met at the time of service. Total amount due for BOTH claims is $970.12. If you disagree with amount BCBS put as patient responsibility, we suggest reaching out to them for a review. Claim #********A Physician / Claim #********A Facility - DOS: 10/27/2021. I have attached the **** I called BCBS and per *******, EOB were sent to patient once they processed claim which explained what we would be collecting on behalf of ERNM and the **************** Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank You

This is from an insurance claim/date of service from 4 years ago for an emergency room visit. I was bit by a stray dog on 10/11/2019 and my wife took me to the nearest ER that had just opened near our house: ER Near Me at *****************************************************************. We never received a bill until September 29, 2023 for $2,277.54. I have called the # on the bill dozens of times and left messages and no one ever answers nor returns my call. I called the facility and ER Near Me/ER Coit LLC was sold to Surepoint ER and they do not have any prior patients' files/information. So, ER Coit LLC is no longer in business and have sold to but they are billing old patients for thousands according to Surepoint. I do not know if this is a scam and they are billing people needlessly b/c they also send text messages. The texts are bills to pay and they have gotten more threatening saying they will send to collections and last week I got one that said this is my final notice and to pay. I need help handling this. I've contacted BCBS, ** **** of ********** ** State **** of ***********. and was advised to contact BBB to see if this is a scam and for assistance. Thank you for the help!
