Had nothing but issues with Republic Pools and Mike ****. Consistently 1 step forward and 2 steps back with mistakes for 4 months and still have issues that need to be addressed. No supervision or checking of the work done by the sub contractors. Mistakes from day 1 through now and sending a demand letter that has the incorrect amount. Asking for 21K when really we own less than 13K. Mistakes made along the way that had to be fixed include...depth off by 3 inches when its 5 feet in one area then 5'3" on the same side of the pool. Sheer descents off by 30" then 9" and still off 1-2". Wall height inconsistent from one level to the next each step on the back wall should be the same not a 1.5 inch difference. Spa seating was not square, bubbler in tanning ledge off by 9 inches. Plaster issues between tiles 2 times. Mortar between coping does not match the rest. 2 wing walls cracked 1 month after instalation due to no footer. All Mike **** wants to do is put bandaids on issues and doesn't actually want to "fix" existing issues. Including...sheer descents not centered, mortar between coping and wing walls demolished and rebuilt with footer to prevent shifting and cracking that has already happened. Republic will not warranty their product without full payment and we understand that but we want things fixed correctly for full payment. This is not warranty issues this is lack of quality work from the beginning. We also have a bid from another company to fix all issues between 6k-8k. We are requesting an invoice adjustment to reflect the work we need to correct issues made by Republic Pools. Thank you

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/12/05) */ Republic Pools has done everything within its power and within reason to appease this client. We made countless changes in design and on-site at their request. ******'s case description is 100% inaccurate and ill-advised. Republic Pools does not deny some work was changed or corrected through the build as in most construction of this type. That's why we do walk-throughs. Issues that needed to be addressed were done so in a timely and efficient manner with no delay to the job schedule. Republic Pools does multiple walk throughs a week to follow up on subs with decades of experience and did so on this job as well. If something legitimately needs to be changed or addressed on any job, we do so no questions asked. There was a new superintendent over this job that is in training so the job was routinely followed up on by management. Mr ****** works from home and was constantly belittling and hovering over the subs as they tried to work to the point that they didn't want to return to the job. We've never had this happen on ANY other job! Republic Pools made adjustments and changes at every request within reason repeatedly in good faith, despite the ******'s being in breach of contract with payments. Despite their insufficient payments we've still instructed some of our subs to go help do some touch up work with plaster that the clients called directly. We had our mason lined up to go address a couple of the cosmetic concerns Mr ****** had and we were instructed not to send them that the gate would be locked. Mr ****** needs to understand the type of work and construction that goes into a gunite pool. The pool is not made in a factory or by robots and is not a perfect thing. This is a hand made, in ground structure made from blown in concrete, hand shaped steel, PVC and natural stone. There is and always will be some natural occurring irregularities. Items such as the pool floor 3" offset due to the offset of the spa is naturally occurring due to the offset. This is not a defect but still was addressed to the best of our ability and within reason. Waterfalls being off-center by less than 2" in irregular stone retaining wall is acceptable for the work type. It is not justifiable to tear apart a natural stone wall to move this margin. Retaining wall offsets were done and discussed with the client in real time. Mr. ****** made changes to wall height next to the spa and now complains that there's a 1.5" offset difference between it, and the others. Republic Pools will not make any concessions on payments due. Republic Pools honestly tried its best to satisfy Mr ******'s every request WITHIN REASON.
