12/7/24 went to the grocery store with my card to pick up a birthday cake we had ordered for my son's 21st birthday party that we were to be at in 1 hour where we were hosting 15 people for a dinner to celebrate. The transaction was declined due to card issuer rejection. Called bank, was told that the previous day there was a suspicious charge so the bank had blocked my debit card. I asked why I did not receive an email asking if it was me or not for the suspicious charge (as I have been assured in the past this was supposed to happen so I would be aware my card was blocked prior to attempting to use it somewhere) and was told they did not know why. They turned on ATM only feature so i could still withdraw money while waiting for my new card to arrive, however, this ruined my son's birthday as I did not get any notice and was supposed to pay for all ************************************************************************************************ with this any futher since it was a weekend and I would have to wait until Monday morning to call customer service. Meanwhile, all of my automated debit bill charges were being declined so creditors were thinking I wasn't paying my bills. My new card arrived Wednesday. Now it is Sunday, 12/15/24, I'm ordering groceries online and buying chrstimas presents and again my card is now being "rejected due to card issuer". When I call my bank there is no one there to help on Sunday and it says to call back Monday. I have complained about them blocking my card without telling me several times, there is raretly a time when i have under $5000 in there so it is never a lack of funding issue, it's always a card issuer rejection for suspicious fraud but it's never fraud and they have no customer service to help when they block acces to my money over the weekend. I've spoke to managers there and they say there is nothing they can do. If bank allows auto blocking cards on weekends it should have a **** to call over the weekend too!Business Response

My mother had a stroke and was in the hospital, the stroke resulted with her severely confused. She in her confusion from the stroke made the same payment multiple times to different bills which resulted in the bank charging her $153 in over draft and NSF fees. When I called the bank to explain her situation and ask if the fees could be waived since shes never done this in the past. They said no regardless of her medical condition we do not waive NSF or overdraft fees.Business Response

I have sent the details of a company named Netgear who fraudulently coerced money out of my wife and myself. It was the amount ******. I asked for money back through ********* my main bank and was denied. I then filed a complaint for an item in the amount of ****** done on feb 7. I was again denied. These charges are falsely taken out of my account and I would like a refund. I have my disability my social security. My retirement funds and my wifes caregiver funds deposited in this account. I am a 100% disabled vet and my wife handles everything. My ptsd is severe and my disorders are physical as well. This bank constantly overcharges for insufficient funds and abuses my money. My wife makes mistakes on the account all the time anx tells me but the bank gives no wiggle room for refunds I get that. Its happening to everyone. A bank using a ***** dollar charge to steal from citizens who fought wars for the bank to even exist. But I specifically explained to stop payment to these two entities and refund us and issue us both new cards one at a time. I get nothing. Netgear can steal with false programs and subscription services that dont exist. And a shoe company in ********** gets its money for a pair of shoes that never arrived and were an accidental charge. They dont care about heroes or customers or veterans. I have been a customer for about 20 years. That does not matter to them either bCustomer Answer

Fort Hood National Bank is the reason why ***** has reported my name to the credit bureau for late payment. Jun 2021, my wife called them to put a stop payment on our mortgage company because we were in the process of refinancing our house. They put the stop payment on my chase credit card instead of the mortgage company. I did not realize they did that until January 2022, when I called chase credit card to send my name to the credit bureau, and my score went down by 50 points. ***** told me they could not get the payment because the bank put a stop payment on the card. I told them that I set the amount to come out automatically every month, and they told me to call my bank to find out what happened. Therefore, I called fort hood National Bank to solve the issue. ***** wanted me to get a bank error letter from them, instead, they had given me a letter saying there was a miscommunication, and that letter was not enough to take down the late payment. I do not know where the miscommunication came from because my mortgage company is different from chase; they made mistakes, and did not want to own up to it. Even after I told them the letter had to explain an error on their part, I still did not receive the letter from them, and my credit still messed up because of that. It has taken me awhile to get my credit to a certain point in a short period of time a corporation just messed that up for me. I want them to take responsibility and fix the problem. That is one of the reasons why I do not bank with them anymore. actually ***** is ****** to help take care of the problem if only they can get that letter from the bank.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: My wife actually called to put a stop payment on our mortgage company which is different from chase, however, the misunderstanding was on their part. she never mentioned ***** credit when she called. The letter they sent did not explain clearly what happened, they made it sound like it was our fault. Yes I closed the account with them because I do not want to do business with them anymore because of what happened. I am requesting them to provide me with the recorded conversation where she asked to put a stop payment on *****. if they cannot provide a letter explaining it was an error on their part, I want the recorded conversation where she requested the stop payment.
Respectfully,

I am rejecting this response because: Your agent actually heard the united part, however, ************** said Veterans United which is our mortgage company. We are being discriminated against because of her Jamaican accent and that is very unprofessional on your part that your agent did not confirm what she said. Your agent asked her to pay $35.00 for the stop payment where she said she wanted to used the chase credit card to pay for the Stop payment. Once again the mistakes was on your part at least have decency to help fix it.
