      I don't know if any of you fly consistently or are planning to fly sometime soon for holidays or to see family. But I would highly recommend to NEVER fly American Airlines. They cancelled a flight of mine 2 months ago literally 9 hours before the flight was supposed to take off so I had to emergency re-book with another carrier. I called in that day to try and get a new flight but they couldn't get me out till 2 days later than I needed to leave so I declined that offer. I have since called back a total of 5 times and over the span of 9 total hours of call time have not gotten a single solution as to getting a refund. American Airlines is activly holding my 864 dollars hostage via 'flight credit' that I never requested because my flight was 'non-refundable.' But THEY voided the contractual agreement between us for the purchase of the ticket when THEY cancelled my flight. I have called into Customer support, Customer relations, I've written customer relations, put in multiple refund requests via the online portal for a cash refund, and have gotten zero solutions offered other than 'we will contact the refunds department on your behalf' because there is no direct line to contact them through on the customer level. My most recent call in with a wonderful customer service rep has shed some light though as she was able to inform me that via her direct manager contacting refunds (because she can't), she was told that the reason that I am not getting refunded cash is because they are claiming that I CANCELLED the flight, even though I have call log proof and an email from them stating otherwise. I have an email from 9:30pm that day saying "sorry, your flight was cancelled and we were unable to automatically rebook you, please call xxxxx", and my call log that refunds is claiming I cancelled with says I called in at 10:20pm, so I have active proof their lying.Update: Contacted AA through ******* and got my refund in 3 days after threatening legal action, amazing.........

      This is the worst airline to flight with I was detained on my vacation for asking for water after being ignored when everyone else got served, I had to ask multiple times and when I told them I will be filing a complaint. I get detained still to this day no reason why. And AA refused to properly investigate the incident. Avoid this airline at all cost just not worth it I fly for a living and I just pay more to travel other way when possible.

      I have a complaint regarding a flight credit. My husband and I had a flight in March of 2020. Because of the Covid lockdown, we were not able to go on our flight. The flight was cancelled and we were told we got a flight credit to use on future flights. We even have an email that ensures us our flight credit is safe until we rebook. With everything that happened with *****, we did not book a flight until 2022 for a flight in April of 2023. We went to book our flight with our flight credit (which only covered part of the ticket). And it wouldnt let us online. We then called and they said they couldnt do it either saying the credit was no longer good, and the only thing to do was to book the flight and go through the process of asking for a refund. We went ahead and booked the flight. Then asked for a refund and they refused. I have tried contacting them further and cannot get anywhere. I have the original email that ensures the credit is safe, and nowhere does it say that it has an expiration date. I have tried escalating this, but they keep giving me the run around and wont actually let me talk to anyone higher up. This is ridiculous and at this point theft. I was okay with a credit, but since I paid for a flight that I didnt need too, I now expect a refund. But they arent even giving me my flight credit. I need this escalated, and demand that they honor what they promised me in writing!

      My family's nightmare with American airlines started 6/30 at 9pm after arriving at *** at 6:30pm. Our first flight was switched at boarding time, so we had to switch terminals and wait to board a new plane. After a short while, we boarded but sat at the gate for more than 30 minutes after they finished boarding. Then eventually the pilot tells us this made up story of how he accidentally hit the parking break and now might not be able to fly. We wait an hour and they canceled the flight and said go to customer service. We go there wait some more and at 12am there was supposed to be a 1am flight. So we wait for that and it took 45 minutes to get all flight crew on board. Once the pilot arrived a flight attendant decided she wasn't going now. So they canceled the flight again. At this point it was past 2am and customer service checked out completely leaving us without accommodations, food, and a way home. At 3am two agents at gates started helping everyone. We got flights secured with United and Alaskan to get home because all American flights were book 7/1. We went to get our bags and had to wait two more hours when I called American to confirm. We'll the representative, **** tells me we aren't actually booked with the other flights. I lost my cool and hysterically cried for a supervisor. ***** took the call and got the flights confirmed and told us they'd transfer our bags. So at 6:30am we were left to wait for a 9am flight. After everything we went through American only gave a $50 flight credit and 7500 expirable airline points. I was appalled that a company that made $19 million profit in 2023 couldn't afford to upgrade our pending flight reservations in Nov 2024. I've flown for the last time in 39 years with them!

      Complaints are the same as everyone else. This isn't right. A very complicated industry where labor laws shouldn't be coming from overstepping self interested localized groups which cause efficiency problems. They should be coming from a federal level. Flying isn't a "who can tough it out the longest challenge." We pay good money to get you from A to B without dealing with TOTAL CHAOS that happens every time. Weather excuse is a total cop out and they should be brought to court on it. Most of the time the weather is non existent. 9 knots and a drizzle doesn't get you off the hook. A mediocre storm yesterday isn't an excuse. Adjust. Because a hurricane happened at some point in the past doesn't mean you get to use it for your unethical excuses.

      My minor son was re-booked on a connection flight and stranded at the ** airport overnight. While he was able to fly out (after 12 hours in the airport) absolutely nothing was done to address him personally. While the adults he shared his connection with were offered meal vouchers and hotel rooms, my son slept on the floor of the airport and was IGNORED by staff. He literally was on FaceTime with me while he was trying to get an agent to speak to him (they INGORED him).I called customer service to try and remedy this problem on my end, but the agent I tried to talk to TALKED OVER ME, yelled at me, told me this all was MY problem, and then disconnected the call. So, I had a stranded 14 year old in an airport 8 states away, and nobody working at American Airlines was concerned or interested in helping him. I spent $1400 and booked him a flight with Delta to get him home asap. The refund I am entitled to never arrived, so now I'm out $2,350.After reading reviews from other parents, this practice of stranding children is quite common. I have cancelled my American Airlines Credit Card, and we will not be doing business with American Airlines ever again. PARENTS, DO NOT FLY YOUR CHILDREN ON AMERICAN AIRLINES. IT IS NOT SAFE.

      Traveling with my pregnant wife to see my niece ring the bell at the hospital for the end of her cancer treatment. Paid premium for summer travel and seat selection. Traveling for 24 hours. Missed the hospital. Stuck in ******. Was told I will not get a refund. Reached out to an attorney who will help. This company should not be booking seats on planes that have no seats. Literally stealing from Americans.

Sincerely, American Airlines (Reply to American Airlines) To say that our travel didnt go as planned is as a direct result of American Airlines inability to complete its promise as a provider to its customer. If the business that provides the service fails the customer in any way, the business should provide more than an email reply of sorry and we appreciate your business. American Airlines changed our flights 14 times (3 passengers, 4 flights each, and 1 flight changed 2 more times mid-terminal), delayed our travel by almost 16 hours in total over the 6 individual flights, lost luggage, forced our family to sit on a plane on the tarmac with no air conditioning for almost an hour while the plane heated up to almost 100 degrees, required our family to run (with our luggage) 3 times to and from multiple terminals, and wait with no information as to what was going on for hours at different terminals. I would like for you to review the trip and consider the human component of the services provided. At no time did any American Airlines representative offer to help in any way. To put the blame onto the customer is insulting. ********************** managed to affect each part of the journey. 3 passengers, 4 flights each, delayed, and now made to feel as if this was somehow our fault. We do expect that this will be reviewed and action will be taken by American Airlines. This is and was not correct on the part of American Airlines. The fault and blame should not be put on the passengers.

      Let me tell you my very first experience with AA. We usually fly another major airline. 7/14 flight 1170 out of ********* to ******* (fact check that American!!) was delayed 8 hours with us sitting on a hot tarmac for 2.5 hours with no air or services because we weren't in the air. I arrived without my luggage and had to buy a new clothes until they could locate my luggage and send it to me. AA didn't care I was out money.7/19 flight cancelled due to "IT Issues" bunch of BS. It took me 10 flipping hours to reach a "live person" 10 hours!!! My frustration levels had reached a 60 year all time high. American Airlines offered us nothing for being inconvenienced while Delta and United bent over backwards for their passengers. They gave travel vouchers, paid for motel rooms etc.I felt like I was being treated like a head of cattle and got a big oh well from AA when I complained. They routed me through DFW an airport that gives me super panic attacks so I avoided that ehen booking yet there they sent me with a huge layover. You got my money AA and I got a big * You from you.Never again will my family fly American. I'll go to an airline that actually treats their customers like real people and not a $ sign.

Wbtnces si no pago ms ** que el**s quieren , tampoco puedo viajar * pierdo mi dinero.
