*************** was hired to complete an outdoor remodel and a home addition. Upon signing contracts he took deposits. He cashed out checks immediately and then stayed that he could not start our project for several months due to delays and needing to complete other projects. He eventually started the outdoor project and with in a month started making excuses about delays on labor and materials. Out yard was tore up. Our fencing was taken down. Holes were cut into our home roof. Our pavilion was left without roofing or the stonework. He showed up and stated he needed to collect. 14k for the roofing for the house and pavilion. That it would be installed in 3 days. We gave him the check. He took that check and the 25k check for the house addition materials and never shows up again. He ran off with 39k for specific materials and project start up. He left our house and open exposed to the elements. We had water damage due to rain before we could get another roofer. We had to pay for the pavilion roof as well aa our backyard irrigation, lighting, grass, pool deck, outdoor bar and fencing as they were left undone or damaged. He promised to pay us back and constantly complained about not having money but he took our money. He stated he used our money on other projects.Initial Complaint

July 7, 2023 ********************* entered into a contract with ********** Synthetic Turf for a structure build job. The *** and agreed price was $ ****, with a deposit of $ ****. Deposit was paid on July 7, 2023 for materials purchased. Start date for the job was July 31, to allow procurement of materials and permit approval. Several attempts to get status on this project, followed by excuse from *********September 13th - **** called **** and requested that the contract/agreement be cancelled, and deposit refunded. This was due to the lack of communications and Matts inability to adhere to dates. We've learned that **** previously owned Elegant Outdoor Living and opens another LLC to avoid legal actions and accountability. Original complaint filed: #********.Initial Complaint

On May 8, 2021, I entered into a contract with *********************************** and his company, Elegant Outdoor Living, to complete several backyard renovations. These renovations included the install of a concrete patio extension, artificial turf, gravel walkways, and raised garden beds totaling $22,700. I paid **** a 50% down payment of $11,350 to finalize our contact. To date, **** has not honored any portion of our contact and hasn't completed any work for me. My repeated attempts to email, call, and text him to request a contract cancellation and refund of my deposit go unanswered.Initial Complaint

********************* that owns Elegant Outdoor Living or whatever he is calling ******* these days is a scam artist! Horrible! Worst experience I've ever had! Hired ********************* on 7/13/21 to do a $40,000 backyard renovation project that included a patio extension, outdoor kitchen, stone wall w/fireplace and some additional concrete work. He required and was provided a $12,000 down payment at the time of signing, **** *********** payments. It took two months (9/17/21) for him to get plans drawn up so he could submit them to the city. It was an additional 3 months (12/7/21) before a permit was issued by the city. Finally on 12/21/21 **** **** a concrete crew to dig and set forms after canceling twice. **** assured me the concrete would be poured before Christmas. As with everything else **** claimed would happen, this didn't happen either. Nothing passed inspection. Gas line failed. Patio slab failed. Nothing was done to make the needed corrections so the concrete could be poured. Empty promises that crews would show up and never did. **** ******* said he would have to come and he never showed. As of this post (3/22/22) NOTHING has been done to complete a single phase of the construction. **** has stop communicating all together. Just as well I guess because every time **** opened his mouth to me, the only thing that came out of it were lies. Nothing **** has ever stated to me has happened. I currently have form boards up, rebar lying in my yard killing my grass, debris scattered around killing my grass, a sprinkler system that does not work, mud and dirt being tracked into my house daily as we have pets. **** has $12k of my money and has done nothing. **** could care less. I am pretty sure his business is failing and he does not have the money to pay the subcontractors. We are 9 months in and nothing has been done. Based on the complaints I've seen on multiple sites, he seems to be shutting down one business and opens under another name. STAY AWAY!! I want my $$ back ASAP!Customer response
