1 starThis law firm is a complete scam, they take peoples money and do nothing. They do not respond in a timely manner, if they respond at all and nickel and dime you for everything. This is not normal! Please anyone considering this firm think again. They truly need to be looked into by the bar association and law enforcement for their tactics. They mishandled my grandfathers divorce and he has now had to hire a different law firm to take care of the mess they created. When reaching out to other firms they even mentioned how many complaints they have heard regarding Mark *********************** I thought ************************* was better when he took over after ************************* but turns out he is not its all a facade. He puts a good face on but hes just as bad they are all crooks. Their security guard at the ****** location is a joke she is a huge uneducated individual that is disrespectful and only there to try and scare paying customers away, because once you pay and retain them you are not allowed on the property, in what world is this normal? ******* is also a mess and the communication amongst all parties is a disgrace. Please do your research and do not fall victim to this firm. Even having to give it 1 Star is an overstatement.Review fromAlexandra H

1 starI scheduled a consult with the attorney and accidentally slept through it as I have been very stressed and not sleeping well lately. The text conversation that followed blew my mind with the unprofessional attitude displayed. For reference, why would you take the time to reach out to us, then confirm the appointment, and ultimately not take the call? I was asleep We can only take your case as seriously as you doI don't like your passive aggressive tone so please do not contact me again. You reached out to us, and we scheduled a free call on a holiday and you slept through it. DO NOT contact me again. I will find a lawyer whose staff know how to speak to clients professionally. This is not staff, this is the attorney who was willing to speak with you on a holiday and whos time you wasted. Free advice: dont sleep through your court date;)Looks like I dodged the bullet of working with an unprofessional jerk then. Have a nice day.For reference, their office is NOT closed today and I had to block the number.Review from808Post

1 starI was very much taken advantage by Mark ********************** Family Law Firm and I would definitely not hire this Firm. Unethical, scam and deceptive are words that describe what they did.I paid their $3,000 retainer. I had a no-contest divorce case, no kids, very simple. I made it very clear to them I only need help with the Final Decree, all other forms were already filed and stamped by the court. This was so simple a paralegal could have done it. They assigned *********************** to the case. The ONLY thing we needed done was a Final Decree, which was also drafted for them using the official county court form. Before having one call with me, without my knowledge or consent they resubmitted the exact forms that were already completed and stamped by the courts.I had no idea they did this until much later, when they finally decided to speak to me on the phone. When I asked why this was done, the answer was because "it looks nicer (than the official County Court document)".They literally did nothing for me and charged my $1825 (for work I had already completed). Knowing my case was no-contest and did not need much work they obviously decided to increase billable hours anyway they could, this is the only explanation. Padding the invoice with useless actions that were basically onboarding and resubmitting forms that did not need to be resubmitted. All was completely unnecessary, without my knowledge or consent and of no benefit to me or my case. When I discovered this, I immediately canceled the retainer, instructed them to stop all work and return funding. But, they continued to bill me! And charge me another $212!I have yet receive any of my money back. What they should do is return the $3k for ripping me off and not helping my case nor looking out for the best interest of a client. They will take advantage of you and not operate in your best interests. They should have their license revoked.Review fromKatrina L

1 starWe hired them for 2 child custody cases. I didnt talk to anyone for almost a week about the cases. I sent them everything I had through a app they have you download, so you can keep in contact and look at updates about your case. No matter how many messages I sent on that, or emailed the attorney no one would get back to me. Its so hard to try and contact them, if you call the office number the lady that picks up wont even try to talk to you she just send you straight to a voice recording. If they dont answer you leave a massage and hope they get back to you. We found a different attorney to go with told them we wouldnt be needing their services anymore and ask how we go about the refund process I was told that they would send a withdrawal to the court and they would send me a paper via mail or email that I would need to sign, and they would get me a itemized receipt and see how I wanted the refund. We paid ***** as the retainer for the child custody cases, thats quite a bit of money. Finally got the email with the receipt to show that we are getting back ******** when it was impossible to get in touch with them and the only thing done was continuance.Seems like they will try to **** every ***** they can in a just a few weeks they have used over *****. We sent them everything we had and they got some papers from the court that they needed. We will be contacting the state bar.Review fromDavid B

*** dealt with a lot of attorneys and this one has been the worst. I wish I wouldve taken the time to read the reviews and get it in writing on what was going to be charged. Literally every week I was getting invoiced for a new amount to the point of me not being able to afford it and now Im out of pocket and still not divorced and currently looking for a new attorney.Law Office Of Mark M. We do run a business, and require clients to pay invoices upon their due date, but that goes for every other law firm as well as every other business. While we understand that a client can be going through a hardship, we still have a business to operate and employees to pay and therefore, we must be paid for our time. It is unfortunate that we were given a negative review due to cost when we are forth front with costs, but we wish *** all the best.Review fromAmanda S

All clients are provided an itemized accounting regarding any work conducted on their case. I assure you this persons retainer was not solely used for administrative and contact attempts. Review of the itemized accounting will enlighten any past, current or future clients in this regard.Clients are provided a means to correspond with the firm in regard to any inquiries they have on their bill. We bill for all work that we conduct on a case and this is thoroughly explained in our client fee agreement. Please know, if you retain a family lawyer you will be billed for more than a court appearance. You will be billed for our drafting and filing of documents, correspondence, preparing for and attending hearings and any work necessary to effectuate your case in furtherance of the reason you retained us. Moreover, as a potential client reading this, we feel confident that should you utilize the tools that we provide to you at the onset of our representation your case will be dealt with in an efficient and effective manner.Review fromKimberly A

Lets see, to prove I was a Client... *********************** was my lawyer. All documents and "preferred" communication are through a clio client app. This law firm needs to go back to school and take communication classes all over again. They are absolutely horrible. I barely got to speak to my lawyer. The emails I receive are from ***********************************. I have to pay to talk. I literally have no clue what went on about my case. I stopped paying them because they are pretty much scammers and you're not going to send me a document I have no clue what it means and just tell me to sign it. ***** you! Even when I reply back what does it mean or try to call... I get no where. I called other lawyers for consultations on what it means or just googled it. They withdrawal from counsel! Thank god! But lied and said i was informed in writing lmfao. I got an email and that was it. I didnt bother to show because it didnt take a rocket science to figure out me not paying you means i dont want your worthless do nothing services. Firm should be shut down, all lose their jobs and work at ********** instead. They would probably ***** that up also.Law Office Of Mark M. Childress

1. It is imperative to be responsive to your attorney in order to avoid unnecessary fees for follow up and reminders having to go out from your attorney.2. About 1/4 of of initial hearings in new cases require a reset because often the opposing party requests more time to prepare or to hire an attorney, and most often these requests are granted. This is an unfortunate part of litigation, but it is out of our control and when it happens it requires another court date, which increases time and cost.3. Much of litigation involves procedures and work such as preparing for court by researching, preparing documents and witness statements, and preparing clients for court. These tasks are all necessary in order to obtain positive results, which we have no doubt would have been the case had the firm been allowed to litigate it at the second hearing.4. We provide clients with an abundance of ways to contact us, the most efficient of which is a client specific link to directly access their attorneys calendar. Our client fee agreement is very detailed in this regard as are our initial consultations. We require an upfront retainer that we bill towards based on our hourly rate. Over time that retainer can deplete. While we do our best to predict the cost of a case it is not possible to predict the actions of the court or other parties which can drive up the cost of a case. Furthermore, with every invoice our clients receive theyre provided an itemized accounting and detailed explanations and instructions should they have questions on how to have those questions addressed. We do our best to be transparent to clients and feel confident that if our clients take advantage of the tools, we provide them they will be satisfied, and the large majority of our current clients are satisfied.
