This company built a pergula in my backyard in May of 2022. It is now leaning significatly. I believe that the posts that were installed were done incorrectly and would not support the weight of the roof. I called for a week, and then was told someone would come out and I waited another week and no one has ever shown up. They are notorious for not answering the phone and when they do they give nothing but excuses. The pictures shown how badly the structure is leaning. I am going to have to have it taken down so I am seeking full re-imbursement of $8,320.00. ***** is the owner. ******* was the salesman, and ***** built it.Initial Complaint

In March 2022 I paid ******'s a deposit of $5,500 for a backyard covered patio. At the time they said they were about six weeks out to start and it would only take a few days, I explained that we leave for the summer in June and that it had to be done by then. They (**************** believe) said that would be no problem. They provided many excuses as to why it wasnt started yet. Finally the day we were to leave they said the could start the next week. I explained that we would be gone and that would not work. I have repeatedly tried to call, and text to find out about getting my refund to no avail I have a log of over 60 text messages (many saying ****** will call me but never got a call ) saying that they were looking into getting my refund but they were all just stalling messages. I just want my deposit back less the small tear down job that they did complete. Deposit was $5,500 less the $750 work completed leaves a $4,750 refund due. Thank you, ***Initial Complaint

Archie's Backyard Retreat was contracted to complete an attached ***** patio and concrete pad with stamp. We were quoted 4-6 weeks for the start of the project which would have been no later than June 6,2022. We had almost no communication with ******'s throughout those 4-6 weeks. We attempted to contact the office with little response. The minimal communication we received was that they were working on permits with the City. We contacted the City permits and the project had been open but no progress was being made. We continually attempted to contact ******'s for updates and timelines for the start of construction. Voice Messages would go weeks with no response. When someone would return the phone calls, we were told the same thing that we are working with the City and will have the information to the City by the end of the week. We were told the same story for months. It has now been 4 months since the quoted start of the project and we do NOT have anything. No confirmation of permits, no patio, no concrete pad and our initial payment. We have been extremely patient waiting for the project to start but it has almost been 6 months since we initially contracted with ******'s and they have not attempted to keep communication and we the project has not been started. We have requested a refund as of a week ago and the owner stated he would call us back to confirm the refund and we have not heard anything. We have sent 3 emails and no response either.Initial Complaint

Message: I have paid said company two payments of $17,424.00. Only to have a sub contractor come out and pour concrete. This was completed on 7/27/2022. The contractor spoke with business owner about completing his part of his the job and asked owner to contact me about completion of th job. The owner would not return my calls and when he finally did it was the next week and wanted another check but couldnt tell me when the start would be started again. Well sister picked up the check and I was told by the owner the materials had been orders and he just needed the check to pick up said material. After receiving my check still the date as to when my project would be completed. I called several times left messages but no return calls. Finally last Monday I was told by sister she was handling the project now. But she has delayed the projects several weeks . I paid my first payment 5/3/2022 and was told my project would began 6/1/2022 well it didnt happen and no one called or contacted me in anyway. I called the company several times and left messages. By end of June I finally had reached the owner. Finally about 3 rd week of July the sub contractor started concrete.. I still cant get the company to complete the job. I am met with continuous delays. The latest I heard is something about August 18 but it is set in stone as the start date to complete the project. I think this is a terrible way to run a business take money fail to communicate with people. Dont return call nor follow thorough on their word or promises. On December 16, 2021, I enter into contract with this company to extend my current patio and build a pergola. At that time, they had me to pay 1/2 as down payment. I wrote them a check for $5,400. Work was to begin in mid-February. As February was approaching the second week, I had to continue to try to reach them. They seems to disappear. According to them, ***** had Covid-19 and was very sick. I also couldnt reach ******* though I sent numerous messages. I had discussed with ******* that I needed my grout to match the current grout color which is white and for the lines to be close together. I sent everyone ********* ****** and ******* ,the rock guy pictures of what I expected. I got home to find black grout. I called and left a message and this was somewhat corrected A worker came and cut a lot of the stones for some reason. In the end I ended up with half the patio with cut stone and half natural. I call it the Tale of Two Cities! It looks a mess. ***** said they would rearrange some of the stone to make it look more uniform. Okay. Two days ago I came home to the wrong size pergola. I had explained and showed the pictures of the table and chairs I was purchasing with the size requirement necessary. I have a pergola the size of a doll house. Im absolutely livid. Now, once again, they wont return my calls or messages. Please help me. This is absolutely ridiculous. Especially after showing pictures and telling ******* it needed to accommodate the table and chairs Id purchased. I was absolutely clear. If ******* isnt the brightest bulb, thats not my problem. I was absolutely clear about my expectations. I gave him the size and number of chairs. Hes supposed to be the professional. Now, they wont return calls. They need to fix this c*** On top of that, they left almost twice as much space on one side as they did the other side. That should clued them that they were building it the wrong size!This week theInitial Complaint

We signed a contract on 10/15/21 told project will be started **** weeks time passed not communication updates no email telephone calls several attempt to call no answer back from them I tried to call from my work phone number was able to reach someone talked to ****** and *** promised someone will call back but no one did it seems like when I use someones number to communicate with they answer the phone obviously there are screening my call last time I talked to *** I told her my frustration and just want my money back due to trust issue she said check will be mail that day 2 weeks ago time passed again no check in the mail trying to call no answer left multiple messages me and my husband drove to address on the contract address does not exist i hope u can help on this matter and stop them from doing this to othersCustomer response

Good morning I received refund check from Archies Backyard Patio after almost 3 months of calling and leaving messages to them thanks for you all helped .
