On 12/6/22, ****, fast talker. working locally, extra material to do first part of driveway from the road for $3k...said no, didnt have the money at that time. He offered to allow us to pay it out. We fell for it and agreed. Then after that was done he offered to do the rest for $7500 and could pay it out. Fell for it again. When done he said his brother told him to offer discount to pay only $6000 if we paid right then. Told same as before. He said no problem, when will you have it I told him as it was right before Xmas I wouldnt know till after first of the year what we could do. Again no prob. He called 1/6 asking if I had payment. I said I would have to get back to him and mentioned that his guys left rocks stored in our yard and need to come pick them up. He said no prob, would after the rain was done. on 1/14 I sent payment of $500 and letter saying would be staying with our agreement and make payments to the address on invoice. Letter never arrived, so I sent one w/sign request to make sure it got to him. Again, couldnt be delivered. Still havent gotten that one back from ***** Got 1st one back after a month and said unable to forward. Stopped payment on both checks. Then he gave me a new address in another town. Sent with sign request again. This time with an invoice for the storage fees of the left over rocks and a $300 pmt (m/o) **** had issues getting it to him, but it finally got to him last week. He calls/txt furious that i sent an invoice for storage of rocks ( our fee is $100 a day with first month free) and not a pmt for the entire amount. threatening lawsuit and lien on home. I am going to have to do the same since the rocks are still stored ********* is refusing to pay that amount & demanding I pay him then he will come and get the rocks and fix all the problems we now have with the driveway that is under warranty. Weeds/not to grade/ rocks washing away in rain. He is a fly by night business, moving towns weekly.

This is not the first complaint I have filed with the BBB regarding this company... For some reason, the BBB decided to "close" our complaint due to the word of the company and NOT **!We have a 3 year warranty of the work this company did for ** and **** with County Asphalt Chipseal said he would return the 10th of January to "fix" our problem. He did show up (not on the day he said, but he did show up). They stripped our driveway, repaired SOME of it - put tar down and then ran out of material!!! Days later they showed up and DUMPED material in places - that did not match the original material and DID NOT finish the job! Once again, I have tried contacting the company and once again, the owner does not answer nor will he return a phone call, text or email! We just wanted him to fix what he had messed up!

I am replying to this message I have been back multiple times to fix that driveway the customer is unable to be satisfied we performed a simple chip seal resurface on the existing driveway some areas did fail I had my crew go out three different occasions and redo the bad areas they are wanting a asphalt driveway which cannot be compared to chipseal there is nothing wrong with the driveway I can no longer continue to send my labor out there and pay them to fix it because theyre unsatisfiable I really dont know what other options I have from where Im at let me know if theres anything else I can do to help you

I am rejecting this response because:  he did come back but did not finish the job... He laid the tar down but obviously did not have enough of the original material to finish... The material they brought in does not match, there are bare places where the tar is still showing through, and it looks terrible.

I do not want a "paved" driveway... What I do want is for this company to finish the job they started and stand behind their word!

      Complaint: 19394568

I am rejecting this response because:

Since the company pointed out that I do not know the difference between chip seal and asphalt, I had another company come and give me an estimate to "chip seal" our driveway.. The estimate is $19,800. To "sweep the entire driveway with a broom - Bring in the correct road base material to level the road - then put down a county spec chipseal" ************ is going to have to "sweep" our entire driveway because pea gravel was used (2 different types) and so much more that was done wrong...

      Regards,

      Business response

      05/01/2023

She looked at numerous jobs that weve done before. She agreed to chipseal so that is not true. but whether or not, there was P gravel on the job or whatever rock was used the new company would need to sweep and prep the ground. I have come back out there numerous times and fix the job. She is being spiteful because she was unsatisfied with chipseal after she got it, because she wanted to asphalt but we agreed to chipseal, and we done that so I cannot be to blame. This lady is unsatisfiable.

      Complaint: 19394568

I am rejecting this response because:  everything this man has said is incorrect.  My husband is the one that spoke with him in the very beginning and neither he nor I saw any jobs this company had done (which is the biggest mistake we could have ever made).

We spent months trying to get "****" (I use quotations because he has many names listed and I'm not sure which one is truly him - ********************* - *********************, ect.) to have him come and repair our driveway - We finally got a hold of him on July 21, 2022.  He said he would be there the next day.  He did not show up.  He did show up on July 23. Looked at the driveway and agreed it needed to be fixed.  Said it would be a couple of weeks.

Septebmer 2, 2022, we still had not heard from or seen him.  I tried calling, emailing, texting.  Sent more messages on September 7, 17, 30, October 26, 27, November 1, 9, 11, 19.

He finally showed up - they worked one day before they ran out of material and their dump truck broke down. They finally got their truck fixed and said they would have to go to Bronte to get material that matched what we currently had - When we returned home - they had used a totally different type of material... and it looks terrible!

On January 27, 2023 @ 6:17 pm, I sent him 8 photos of the driveway and how bad it looked.  Never got a response.. Tried contacting him again on February 6, 7, and 11th.

This company gave ** a 3 year warranty on the job... We DID NOT want asphalt - we did and do not want a black driveway... But we do want a decent job done for the money we paid.

My husband and I are not spiteful people as this man claims... But we are honest, hardworking individuals who stand behind our word and expect others to do the same.

I'm not sure what to do in this situation, where a company does not stand behind their work or the guarantee they made...

If small claims court is what we need to pursue next, then I guess we can do that.  I am trying to give this company a chance to fix their work and make this right.

I have spoken to several people who had their driveways done around the same time we did, who were not satisfied with the job - but the company came out and "half-way" fixed it and those people chose to "let it go".. We unfortunately cannot do that.  The way they left our driveway and the way it looks (for all that money we paid them) is just unacceptable.

I hired County Asphalt Chipseal for a parking lot and driveway. I paid them $9,000. One month after the job was completed, I begun to see holes and bare asphalt everywhere. Grass started growing everywhere. The chips layer never stuck to the asphalt and started eroding. Then the asphalt layer started breaking. The reason for that is because they put a paper thin layer of hot ashfalt and paper thin layer of chips. They did not perform the job as they stated to me in the contract/invoice.****, the owner, admitted that my parking lot needs repairs and he will schedule a crew to come out in his first and only reply to my text where I sent him a video. After that there was a complete silence from him. He has not replied to my texts or calls ever since. When I first talked to him about the job, I believe he lied to me claiming that he can give me a good price because his crew and equipment are already in the area of my property and that saved him the cost of bringing everything long distance. He also said that they can come do the job the next day. I read several reviews where he said the same statements to the consumers so he can bait them into hiring them. The good price was totally not worth even a quarter of what he quoted me. One month later my parking lot started deteriorating and it probably not going to last a year.

On 2-26-2021, I was approached by a representative of County Asphalt Chipseal, (****) who made a proposal to do a portion of my drive way with the materials they had left from another job. Between his brother ****, **** and myself we came to terms to pave with hot tar and chipseal about 300 feet of road and the entrance to the gate, with all work guaranteed for 5 years. The agreed price was ******** and they completed the work and I paid them. In the past two months part of the driveway has deteriorated and needs repair. The first week that I tried to contact **** was late August and he answered after numerous attempts and said he would be in touch to schedule repairs. Since then I have called and left messages with both numbers they list, texted, and emailed the address they show on their website and no one will respond. Their Contact/Invoice number is **** and I have a signed copy that shows the information regarding the scope and warranty of the work.
