After giving notice that Mom was leaving ********, I asked the Administrative Assistant if I would owe any medication costs at the end of the month. She presented an amount of $195.13 which I believed to be incorrect. On May 9, 2024, ***** ******, Executive Director demanded immediate payment standing in the lobby, in front of employees, residents, and visitors and threatened to report the "delinquent account" to her corporate office. The next day, i contacted her corporate office and set up a phone meeting with **** ********, Operations Director, for Monday, May 13th. I discussed this incident as well as many other incidents of dishonesty and poor care of my mother which he promised to research. Notice was given for Mom to be there until May 31st, but neither she nor I could stand another day and she left on May 19th. On May 21st, I went to the pharmacy and collected the true accounting and informed the pharmacy that my mother was no longer at ********, and I would be picking up all future medications. They provided an accounting of $436.30 for the 2 1/2 months Mom was at ********. Mom had paid Arabella $410 through her ACH leaving a balance of $26.30. I paid Arabella this $26.30 in person and gave Arabella's Administrative Assistant a copy of the pharmacy bill. Nothing was ever said about it after that, and I thought the matter settled. Around June 8th, Arabella sent an ACH to mom's bank for $168.83 which is $195.13 less the $26.30. This bank account was closed thank goodness and they were not able to steal the money. I have since received a collection letter from ***** ****** demanding the $168.83 plus $25.00 NSF fee for a total of $193.83. I have already disputed their charge of $195.13, paid the true balance of $26.30, and provided proof their accounting is incorrect and yet they are demanding payment for their errors in bookkeeping.
