The ****** Hino was dropped off on 1/25/2022 with the confirmation that it would be done by end of day. The company took the liftgate apart and advised that the parts were not available until the next day. They didn't not give us a full quote until after the liftgate was apart. When questioned regarding the double labor charges they advised that these charges are necessary. I asked for the truck back and did not want them to do the work and they advised that they could not put the truck back together and said I would have to pay all charges before getting my truck back. They charged me for 4 hours of labor. Their mechanic came out to speak with me and advised the work I was charged 3 hours for was a 20 minute job.This company has over inflated their labor charges and I am asking for a refund of 2 hours of labor.Business response

I am writing in response to ************** complaint about the repair work done on his Hino truck. ********************** brought his truck in with the liftgate not working. It was determined that the hydraulic cylinder which operated the liftgate was leaking down and that the cylinder needed to be removed, torn apart, and rebuilt. Once the cylinder is apart , a call is made to our seal distributer to get a parts quote. There it was discovered that the necessary seals would not be available until the following day. Labor charges are broken out on the invoice to give the customer a more accurate assessment and in our case we may have one mechanic removing and replacing the cylinder while another mechanic actually tears the cylinder down and repacks the cylinder with new seals. SCS Fleet Services has been in business for over 40 years with myself owning it for 20 years and this is a very common service/repair that we do daily. It is not a hard job, just one that is labor intensive. Once the cylinder is torn down, it cannot go back together with the old seals. I spoke with the mechanic that was reinstalling the cylinder about any comments he may have made, and he said he did not speak to anyone but that the owners of the truck were there watching him at the very end. They may have seen 20 minutes of work but in no way is that all it takes from start to finish. SCS stands behind our work and if for any reason ********************** has any issues with the work performed, please bring it back and any necessary warranty work will be done at no charge.
