      In January 2024 my husband and I discovered that our dental insurance was not (and had not been) active for the past 2 years. We were unaware our policy had lapsed because the company administrator Careington had covered some things during that time. The company that owns our policy reinstated our policy retroactively and we paid them for the past two years. We were told to resubmit our claims, some of which had already been submitted by our dentist multiple times. We Paid them (now 2.5 years of coverage) and May 1st resubmitted every single claim that had not been covered from that time period. We were told they would send us confirmation, and booklet or services covered as well as member cards. We were told claim review would take up to 30 days. Today June 6th we called back and were told that due to a glitch the claims had not gone through and we will need to now resubmit the claims again. The company when we call still does not seem to recognize us as members. We believe because the company purchased our plan from another insurer and are required to keep our rate low are intentionally providing us horrible coverage in the hopes that we will just leave and find another insurer. We are self employed and paid them 2.5 years for policy coverage in good faith and it has gotten nothing but extraordinarily long times spent on the phone getting passed back and forth to customer service reps. I spoke today with a rep who said she saw a note that the policy coverage pack had been sent and it was marked "pending" This was promised us in January of this year. We are beside ourselves.

      Careington International Corporation (Careington) received written correspondence from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) regarding a request for assistance filed by *********************************.

      Core V Solutions, Inc., dba Careington Benefits Solutions (Careington), is a licensed Third Party Administrator processing claims for multiple carriers, including HealthMarkets, which provides the dental policy held by *****************************, and his spouse, *****************************.  We initially denied the claims for ***************** and ****************** due to a lapse in coverage.    

      Upon receiving your correspondence, we contacted HealthMarkets, who informed us that due to a system conversion, no notifications were sent to the member regarding due premiums.  As a result of this error,HealthMarkets reinstated the policy without any lapse in coverage and authorized us to pay claims for the services provided during this period.  HealthMarkets also confirmed they would send out a new policy and ID cards to the member. The claims were reprocessed, and payment was sent to the provider on June 17, 2024.

      I signed up for this discount program about eight years ago with the intention of canceling it within a few years, I have moved since then and have only used it a few times in that time. My dentist, no longer accepts this insurance or discount plan and I have been trying to cancel it, however, the phone number on the website is out of service and there seems to be no other option for contacting the company aside from sending a fax (who even does that anymore?) And with the amount of complaints that other people are experiencing in getting refunds/cancellations I felt this was the best way to actually be able to get this canceled.       The listed dentist did not accept the discount card like was promised by careington online. I had to pay full price to dentist! So I called careington for a FULL refund and they said no we keep $20 as a service fee!!!! Service???? You lied to me. I said you can't lie to people and steal their money. Apparently they can! Thrives and criminals!!!!! Don't buy!!!

      Our records indicate that you cancelled on April 17, 2024, and we issued a refund of the $179.00 membership charge and the $20.00 one-time processing fee.       The discount plan purchased did disclose that the plan would automatically renew unless cancelled by you on the application and the membership agreement provided to you.       ON FEB 1, 2024 I PURCHASED A MEMBERSHIP WITH CAREINGTON 500 DENTAL DISCOUNT PLAN. WE HAD CHECKED OUT THAT OUR DENTIST WAS A PARTICIPANT AS INDICATED BY THE COMPANY. WHEN I WENT TO MY DENTIST FOR A CLEANING AND RADIOGRAPHIC IMAGES I WAS SURPRISED AS TO WHAT THE CHARGES WERE. I ASKED THE BUSINESS OFFICE WHY THE CHARGES THAT I HAD BEEN TOLD MEMBERS WERE TO PAY WERE SO LOW. THEY SHOWED ME WHAT CAREINGTON HAD GIVEN THEM AS TO WHAT TO BILL FOR THE TWO PROCEDURES. MY MEMBER PACKET SHOWED A MEMBER SCHEDULE: 501 THAT MEMBER PAYS $33.00 FOR CLEANING AND $22.00 FOR IMAGES. THE DENTAL OFFICE SCHEDULE FROM CAREINGTON SHOWS $85.00 AND $102.00. I HAVE WRITTEN A REQUEST TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP AS OF FEB 22, 2024. I HAVE REQUESTED TO REFUND COMPLETE AMOUNT OF $159.00 WHICH INCLUDES PROCESSING FEE. I REQUESTED THAT THE PROCESSING FEE BE INCLUDED AS I BELIEVE THAT THEY HAVE PROVIDED THEIR PRODUCT WITH COMPLETELY FALSE ADVERTISING. IN OTHER WORDS THEY HAVE ADVERTISED A LOWER RATE THAN THEY HAVE SET UP WITH THE PROVIDER. SURPRISE!!! I STUDIED THE PROCESS AND ASKED QUESTIONS.       Upon reviewing and investigating the matter thoroughly, we promptly reached out to the dentist's office to rectify the situation. We have confirmed that the discount discrepancy has been corrected on their end, and they have advised they will be providing ************** a refund of the amount overpaid for services.

      However, we understand that despite these corrective actions, ************** indicated he still wished to cancel the plan. As such, we have processed the cancellation request, and a full refund was credited to the original form of payment on March 6, 2024.

      Yesterday i noticed a credit card charge of $49.50 on 12/5/2023 from Careington International, **. I have never heard of them, and I have no idea how they got my credit card number. Apparently, after reading company reviews, I am not the only person that this has happened to. I had to cancel my credit card because I got no satisfaction when I tried to dispute this fraudulent charge. It was very inconvenient updating all my legitimate credit card charges because of their policies.
