To whom it may concern; I would like to file a formal complaint against the following company: Elite Outdoor Living ******************************************************** Here is a brief description of what occurred. I contracted with "Elite Outdoor Living" to construct a patio addition to my home at *************************************************** in February of 2015. In September of last year, I noticed that one (1) post at its base - was soft. It turned out to have dry rot. I called a contractor to repair the post. During the replacing of the post, we noticed there was no "******* Bracket" that should have been used to attach the post to the cement to prevent dry rot We then inspected the other 3 posts. All 3 posts had substantial dry rot. I reviewed my agreement with Elite Outdoor Living that was submitted to ****** Lakes *********************** and it clearly stated that a "******* Brackets" were to be used with the posts. I now had to repair the other three posts. However, I lost confidence and trust that Elite Outdoor Living would complete the job correctly since they did not abide by the contract plus I have motorized screens attached to each post which make the repair and replacement of each post a lot more complex. I did call Elite Outdoor Living in September to discuss the issue and to arrange a reimbursement for repairs. ***********************, the owner of Elite Outdoor came to my home. He looked at the posts and said he would repair them. I declined and asked for reimbursement upon repair. He was not agreeable to that. The repairs of the remaining 3 posts were completed using ******* Brackets (NOT by Elite Outdoor Living) in late fall of 2022 The total costs of the repair was $6,574.46 for all 4 posts I sent Elite Outdoor Living a certified letter as well as a separate letter with *********** tracking that he received and signed for in December. I asked for reimbursement by January 19th. It is now January 26th and I have not heard from him. I have attached a file that contains my initial letter dated December 6, 2022 that I sent to ************* of Elite Outdoor Living, plus a copy of the agreement that states how the porch was to be built and paid statements of the post repairs that were made. Due to the file size of the pictures that shows the dry rot and the absence of the ******* brackets, I will be sending a second email.
