Excessive Billing This practice is charging me for sessions not conducted and prescribing harmful medicines to a minor without proper analysis I am surprised at their BBB rating of A+ :(

      Business response

      08/18/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2022/07/08) */ Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the oversight. This patient was seen for an initial psychiatric evaluation on 12/14/2020. After a comprehensive evaluation it was recommended for patient to start Mirtazapine and cognitive behavioral therapy. Mirtazapine is a very safe and well tolerated antidepressant in young adults. It is nonhabitat forming and has low risk to benefits ratio. The patient completed multiple therapy sessions and did not have another medication follow up visit until 06/02/2021. At this evaluation patient presented with inattention symptoms and recommended to start low dose Adderall which is FDA approved for children aged 3 into geriatrics. She also continued with CBT therapy. In total the patient had 17 counseling sessions and 2 medication management visits. During this time, the patient had an insurance which was subject to deductible. She had a deductible of $3000 and out of pocket maximum of $5000. This meant the patient was responsible for all services provided at 100% until she meets her $3000 deductible, after which she would be responsible for 10% until she meets her out of pocket maximum of $5000. As a policy we collect for services at the time the services are rendered. During each visit, the patient was required to pay her deductible. Patient's father has filed this complaint alleging he was billed for services which were not rendered and prescribing harmful medications without proper analysis. In reviewing our medical records and billing records we were unable to find any services that were billed which were not rendered. Our EMR systems tracks all logins for patients for telemedicine visits and all telemedicine visits are validated via the patient logins. All services have medical records associated with them. Additionally, the complaint of prescribing harmful medications without proper analysis is unfounded. Our providers are board certified and highly qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders. During each visit, our providers made recommendations about medications based on the symptoms patient presented with, reviewed risks vs benefits of treatments, reviewed alternative treatment options, and obtained consent from patient's father before establishing a treatment plan. Each session and visit is thoroughly documented in the patient's medical records. If Mr. **** can provide actual documentation or billing records that supports his claims of being charged for sessions that did not occur we will gladly refund all amounts that was charged. Please forward any documentation for our review. Thank you for your time.

I received TMS work over the past year. I called Compassionate Psychiatry numerous times because they kept over billing me and not crediting my account when I paid them. (I do have the receipts). I actually over paid them, but they kept saying I owed more and more. Last month, I went to talk to Fathima ********* because they never fixed my account over the phone. They would just keep sending me bills over and over and over again. Finally, she gave me an email that said I had 0 dollars balance. Yet, they pulled over $200 dollars out of my account, again. This has been going on for months and months and months. They owe me about $600 but they keep billing me! Please see the email she gave me in December. This is frawd.

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/01/19) */ To the Dispute Department: This email is a response to the complaint ********** ******** *****, dated 01/04/2022. Mr. ***** had been receiving an on-going treatment that required a contract for a fixed amount of treatments. When he chose to discontinue treatment, he was in breach of contract. Once notified of her patient's request, Director Fathima ********* accepted the break in contract and notified Mr. ***** that he would have no other charges. Unfortunately, his treatments were set up on auto-pay, and a charge of $295.40 was debited from his account on 01/03/2022. Once learning about the error, Director ********* reversed the charge on the same day. Since then, his credit card information has been removed from the system to further avoid any additional charges. Director Fathima ********* has confirmed with me that as of 1/17/2022, he indeed has a zero-balance owed with our doctor's office and that he has been released from the contract.
