I purchased a magnolia tree on Saturday, May 27th and was told by the salesperson, *********************, that they could remove my old tree for $100 total. **** never told me that the price would go up exponentially if the trunk of the tree was larger than 3". None of this was discussed and I was quoted $534 to remove my tree after I sent him an actual picture of my tree on the 27th but he never responded until Friday, June 2nd. This is a material difference in pricing and not educating the customer as to the potential upside is not honest business practices. **** did reduce the price to $450 but i decided to call the onsite manager, ***************************, and see if she would be of help on reducing that to around $200 which would be reasonable based upon the size of the tree. She proceeded to tell me that the 3" agreement was on the receipt but I told her that the 3" rule was never brought up by the salesperson and how it could go significantly higher if the trunk was larger than 3". Very deceptive and this should be explained to customers who are not tree experts. I suggested that ****** speak with her salespeople and have them explain this in more detail to other customers and she was very condescending to me and very dismissive of my comments. All she had to say is I agree with your ******************, we should make sure all of this is explained in detail to every customer. It seemed as if she did not care that **** did not disclose the potential higher fees on the 3" or larger trees. They are wanting to charge me a 3% fee to refund my money and that does not sit well with me since they misrepresented their services to me.
