      I have 3 policies with this company. I called 8/31/23 to cancel 2 of the three. I was told that I need to call the agent who sold the to me. The agent that sold me the policies, no longer works for them and my policies would be transferred to John ******. I was given his number but every time I call it goes back to corporate. They took payments after I canceled my policy because the agent who I've never spoken with or seen didn't cancel the policies on time. My polices have been canceled but I was still charged me for the 4 month.

      My name is Sylvia ****** and I’m filling this dispute on my parents (Maria ******* and Ramon V *******) behalf. On 8/10/23 my parents surrendered their life insurance policies with American National policy #’s: Maria - ********** Ramon- ********** A local representative (Felicia *******) from Van Horn,TX where my parents reside went to my parents house and did the paperwork to surrender the policies online. We were told that my mother’s signature was the only one needed since she is the owner of the policies so my mom signed electronically and we were told that my parents should be receiving their cash value checks within 7 to 10 days. A couple of days later I received a call from Felicia saying that my Mother’s signature was not legible when she had signed electronically. Felicia said that she was going to have to do the paperwork again on paper and have mom sign again. A day or so later Felicia and a representative from their FT Stockton,TX office (Rebecca Mata) went to my parents house to do the paperwork and again we were told that the only signature that was needed was my mother’s and we were told once again that my parents should be receiving their checks in about 7 days. It’s too much information so I’m going to try to make as short as possible. Parents surrendered their policies on 8/10/23 after a whole lot of aggravation my mother finally got her cash value check on 10/18/23 for 1501.23 and no check for my dad. Local representatives keep telling us that check should becoming in. On October 20, 2023 we get a letter saying that my dad’s policy has lapsed as of October 19,2023 because of no payment! I’ve gone back and forth with these people and I’m done! Here it is 4 months later and we are still dealing with this mess and my father has yet to receive his check for 2050.85. My parents are elderly and I live over 500 miles away so I’m trying to do the best I can to get this matter resolved any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Silvia

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  
      I would like to add, that it took 5 long months of several calls, emails and lots of frustration to finally get this matter resolved!!!
      American National should monitor/re-evaluate their agents in Ft. Stockton because they are sure making them look REAL bad!
