      On April 29th 2022 I placed a $568.50 Deposit on an engine & Transmission because my trans on my car died and I was looking to replace it along with a new motor. I never purchased anything from this company before so after the deposit was put down I called them with questions and during this call they reassured me that their engines pass inspection and they would never sell a faulty engine. I paid the remainder for the engine which was $1780.50 and when it finally arrived...it was faulty. I called JDM and they let me know that I have a 30 day warranty from when it arrived in Maryland as long as it is an issue with the motor and not an issue with a bad mechanic install. MY mechanic is certified in Maryland so he knows what he is doing. They have not offered to send out a new engine to replace this faulty one, and have not offered even a partial refund for it. Instead they were very combative with me and my mechanic and insisted it was an issue with the shipping company but this is not true since the issues were all internal in this faulty engine. They also said that they would have one of THEIR technicians look at it and decide if it falls within the warranty but this seems very biased to me because we already had someone who is qualified to make the decision look at the engine and say its bad. We also have video proof that the engine is bad since it wouldn't crank. I am just lost as what to do since JDM has been no help at all; they also lied when I asked them questions about where the engine came from; at first they said they import in Japan and after issues occurred they stated it was from Montreal Canada. They also requested that I be the one to pay to ship it back to them. The engine arrived on the 16th of this month, I have until 14th of June so this falls within their warranty. I spent $2349 total for a bad engine and that price doesn't include all of the extra labor my mechanic will charge me for to figure out why the engine wasn't running. I want a refund.

And after the shipping, she called us saying that there was an issue with this engine. And to be noted her mechanic opened the timing belt. Before the shipping process, we always check the engine function properly, and then we ship to our customers. And I have attached all the conversations we had with her; I requested to send back our engine. We have a technician who will check if there is any issue with this engine. We are ready to replace it, and as per the company policy, we are not covering any labor or shipping cost; here is our company policy for your kind information. https://jdmautopartsusa.com/en/warranty/ Warranty & Sales Policy 1. A non-refundable deposit is required to initiate the reservation of an item. This non-refundable deposit consists of 25% of the total amount of the item in question. The customer understands that this fee is non-refundable and non-transferable to any other goods or services at JDM Auto Parts USA. 2. A 100$ reservation fee is also available for customers who cannot pick up the item(the item will be kept for a period of three weeks). 3. Deposit and Reserve are NON-REFUNDABLE. 4. The customer is allowed to cancel the purchase within this 3-weeks period. If the customer chooses to do so, the customer understands the 25% deposit, as well as the 100$ reservation fee, will not be refunded as they are NON-REFUNDABLE. Following the 3-week period, the customer can request an in-store credit of the amount they paid (EXCLUDING THE NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT AND RESERVATION FEE IF APPLICABLE). 5. RETURN POLICY- IF YOU PAY IN FULL (no deposits...) JDM Auto Parts USA does not charge any restocking fee for up to 30 days following the complete purchase of an item. After that period and up until the 30 days following the purchase, the restocking fee will be 30% of the total amount of the item in question, and also if the customer changes his mind the restocking fee will be 30% applied to him without any question. 6. After the 30 days period, NO refund will be provided. The customer can request an in-store credit up until the third month following the item's purchase (THIS IN-STORE CREDIT WILL EXCLUDE ANY RESERVATION FEE IF APPLICABLE). 7. 30-day startup warranty on the engine block and head from receiving date. 8. Used performance transmissions- NO WARRANTY 9. Used replacement transmission- 30 Days 10. All Electrical/Electronic parts- NO WARRANTY 11. Seals and accessories are NOT covered by warranty. 12. Warranty does not cover shipping, Labour, Replacement, or Other costs. 13. The engine and transmission must be installed by a certified mechanic. 14. All engines are compression tested before being shipped. We do not ship engines with bad compression. 15. If this item needs any minor or major repairs the item must be returned back, We do not pay for any part or labor ( NO EXCEPTIONS). 16. Warranty of any Seized or Blown engines by customer during the warranty period due to unprofessional installation or any other reason is void. 17. Shipping charges are not refundable as well as returning shipping charges must be prepaid by the customer. 18. Refunds or replacements will be issued only after receiving the item back to our warehouse. 19. The engine MUST be returned in the same condition it was sent, all missing parts will be charged to the customer. 20. Loss caused by any modification or use of the engine for which it was not originally designed (ex: adding a big turbo, supercharger, nitrous system or aftermarket tuned ECU, aftermarket intake manifold, performance injectors, performance cams) WARRANTY IS VOID. 21. Loss caused by modification or forced induction (NOS, Turbos, Supercharged) for which the engine was not designed for from the factory. THE WARRANTY IS VOID. 22. JDM Auto Parts USA will not be responsible for incidental or consequential damages arising from loss of use, loss of time, inconvenience, or commercial loss, or any other consequential damage or loss. 23. JDM Auto Parts USA does not provide installation instructions or fitment guides. Please do your research before buying. Your mistakes are not our responsibility. 24. It is second-hand goods. There are scratches. Be sure to check the state of the product before ordering. 25. Engines complete with accessories may not comply with the emission control laws of the state or country in which it is being sold or used. State and/or federal authorities require that you change over the emission devices from your old engine to the engine you are installing to make it comply. The add-on parts on the engine sold by JDM Auto Parts USA are left attached for testing purposes only, for your convenience, and are free of charge. The purchase price represents the cost of the long block only (i.e. cylinder head and short block only). 26. IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not sign the release documents without fully inspecting the outer packaging for noticeable signs of damage. The freight companies will not let you open up the packaging prior to signing, therefore you must note any signs of damage based on the external packaging. Shipping insurance is provided by the freight company, not by JDM Auto Parts USA. If you sign the form and do not note any possible damages, the freight company will be relieved of all responsibility and you will not be reimbursed for any damages done to your shipment caused during shipping. You must notify JDM Auto Parts USA of any damages caused by mishandling during shipping. Once again, please do not sign the release form or let the driver leave without first inspecting the packaging for possible damages. Shipping & Delivery We ship to the USA and Canada.
