In March 2023 I paid $7,063 to Georgetown Awnings for 2 Sunsetter awnings, which they said would be 6-8 weeks to receive. I called for updates every 2-3 weeks after the initial 6-8 weeks and they kept telling me it was *********'s fault. In Nov 2023 they finally installed 1 awning. When calling about the 2nd awning the owner told me it was broken and sent back to Sunsetter. I just found out 11 months after ordering that they only ordered 1 of the awnings (in Sept 2023) and never ordered the larger awning. They just kept the money I gave them and didn't order my awning. I would have disputed the credit card charge had I known that they were so dishonest. They had so many excuses about family medical problems that I felt sorry for them. When I call they do not answer the phones. Now that I am looking at reviews I see that this is how they operate. This is not how you run a business.

I purchased a Four Seasons Sun Room 20+ years ago. In late September ******************************************* the glass roof. I contacted Four Seasons and they gave me Georgetown Awnings as the contact for repairs. I have contacted Georgetown Awnings multiple times (I guess about 10 times) primarily via phone but also via email and one in person visit. I did get at least 1 email response and sent a picture of the damage via email in response. I'd guess less than half of my phone calls have been returned. But I have not received any commitment to repair *******.This may not be pertinent to this complaint, but about a month ago I contacted Four Seasons Customer Support. After sharing the details above with them, I was told that I would soon hear from someone on my repair need. I have not yet heard.I don't think another company can repair my sun room roof as I recall the Four Seasons glass technology is propriety. I only seek to get the roof repaired.

This business took a $39,000 deposit for a $79,000 job. After 4 months did not work. When I complained they showed up while I was out of town and sent a picture of an awning being installed. There were 11 awnings to be built and installed. They installed 1. When given a written demand to complete within a specified time period or return the deposit, they ignored the demand, did not respond and left the job.

In response to the complaint above. If payments are not made, and the balance remains high, we cannot continue to provide any service and or extend any credit.  This is not an uncommon practice among business especially a small family-owned company. This Consumer has multiple outstanding invoices for labor that has been completed totaling over $100,000.00. Please note we understand that hard times happen, and there is financial hardship. Which is why we offered a payment plan, but it was rejected.

I am rejecting this response because: The "outstanding balance" they are claiming is for "work" unreasonably charged for at rates that far exceed any generally accepted pricing structure, which they could not explain or clarify. Further, the complaint filed was specifically for an awning job wherein they took a 50% deposit and did no work. (Invoice and payment attached.) They further sent pictures and text messages stating that many of the awnings were built and on a trailer for delivery and install. One was installed.

Since they brought up items not related to the awnings, which they did not respond to in their response, I will respond to that subject as well. The majority of the additional "work" they billed me for, which they claim goes unpaid, was billed for twice, once in January and again in March, and each time charged ludicrous hours for each task. The "work" they performed failed inspection by City officials three times, much of their "work" they billed for was never done at all and I have had to pay others to have it completed, more than 50% of the work was so faulty that I have had to pay others to correct it and as of today, I have been notified that more of the "work" billed and paid for, will cost upwards of $10,000 to repair and is requiring me to stop work in order to correct it, which will cost me thousands more in interest expenses, loss of time and subcontractors as a result.

These people are beyond dishonest in their business practices. They sell themselves as "**** of all trades" that are good at all things and that their Cuban employees are all "journeymen" level tradesman, which couldn't be further from the truth. They employ several men from **** who don't speak the language and have no clue how to do most of what they claim they are fully qualified to do. They spent thousands of dollars on my accounts making material purchases that were far beyond what was needed for job, most of the time the materials were wrong for the task, were never returned to the vendor and were not left on my job site. Several items purchased by myself for use on my job only, were taken from my site and used on another one of their clients jobs, without my knowledge or consent. I have engaged the local police department and an attorney and will be filing civil and criminal charges, the only reason these charges have not yet been filed is because I continue each day to find more materials missing, more work incomplete or undone or done so poorly that the work must be torn out and replaced. Given that the losses and damages have not yet been fully substantiated, I have delayed in filing charges until I have fully quantified the damages. I could add attachments that would shut down your server, but have been advised by legal counsel not to do so.

      Regards,
