      In August, 2022, I made an online purchase from Modern Wish of one item, for which I paid the advertised total price of $26.94. I recently discovered that this business has also charged my credit card $29.97 every month since then (18 payments). I called this company (Phone # ************) and was told that when I made this purchase, I was automatically signed up for a "subscription" because I "did not uncheck a particular box" on their web site. This is a scam! No such information about a "subscription" was clearly posted on the web site. Even if it was, I would not (and did not) agree to this monthly charge.This alleged scam has been perpetrated by this business on many others. Please see the customer reviews at www.sitejabber.com/reviews/modernwish.com *My "subscription" at Modern Wish is in the name, ****** Bible (to whom my original purchased item was delivered).

      In their response to my complaint, Modern Wish says that I have already been refunded. This is not true! There are no refunds made by Modern Wish on my credit card of the 18 x $29.97 unauthorized charges. Modern Wish still owes me $539.46 .

      I am rejecting this response because:

      In their second response to my claim, Modern Wish stated "... this has already been taken care of by your bank." This is NOT TRUE! I contacted my credit card company, which verified that Modern Wish has NOT refunded the 18 unauthorized charges ($29.97 each). This refund should be made forthwith,  so that no further action is required.

      This business still has not refunded the $500+ that it stole from me by making unauthorized monthly charges to my credit card. Modern Wish continues to intentionally and illegally steal from many unwitting customers in this manner. Perhaps a class-action lawsuit will get them to change their fraudent business practices!

      I am unsure of what was purchased using my information on this site, but my bank account has been charged $29.97 for the past few months, yet I have not received anything. I cannot find any information regarding the company located at the address on the transactions so I was unable to figure out what it was as I cannot find anything in my email inbox that I ever signed up for any membership. I would like whatever membership I was signed up for to be cancelled ASAP.

      I paid this company on 10/23/2022 for a cheap eyebrow stencil kit that cost only $14.96. I did NOT sign up for any monthly membership. I would not have signed up for a monthly membership that costs twice the amount of the item that I ordered. I have been receiving these charges monthly since 2/2023 and could not figure out what the charge was until now 3/2024. This company has been taking money away from me that I did not have to waste. With inflation the last year has taken a toll and this company was taking money that I need for paying bills and taking care of my family. $29.97 each month to be exact for one year. That is fraud for sure.

      The company just charged me another $29.97 today 2/20/24 for the membership I never ordered in the first place. On more than one occasion my account has gone negative because I was charged for this membership without authorizing the payment and not knowing where it was coming from. I have no problem that I paid $14.96 for the eyebrow kit that I actually ordered. I am NOT okay with being charged $29.97 EVERY month since my order on 11/02/22. I've been charged that amount for 16 months including again today since filing my original complaint. The company has now taken ****** from me for a membership I didn't order or use in any way. I only placed one order on 11/02/22.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      I have 3 total emails from this company from November 2022. I do not have any monthly membership emails about paying for a subscription. Which is why I couldn't figure out what that charge was every month. The money I am looking to get back is from this company that was charging me monthly and with no records or receipts being sent to me about paying for their membership. If I had been receiving such emails this whole time I would have been able to track down where the charge was coming from and cancel their membership over a year ago

      On 09/19/22 I purchased an eyebrow stencil from this company for $14.96. That's it. That should have been the beginning and end of our transcation. I did not sign up for a Subscription to receive more makeup or eyebrow stencils. I did not authorize further payments from my bank account. Never the less, the company charged me $29.97 on 10/17/22, 11/29/22, 12/27/22, 01/24/23, and 02/21/23. It's at that point I finally noticed these fraudulent unauthorized charges and contacted my bank. The charges stopped at that point but my bank did not refund me these fees. So they charged me $149.85 on top of the agreed upon purchase price of $14.96. I now see hundreds of similar complaints across the internet and I plan to complain to my bank again however, this company must be stopped. They have likely robbed hundreds of thousands of people at this point.

      I am rejecting this response because:  Once I file a complaint with the BBB, I suddenly receive "cancelled invoices" AS IF THESE INVOICES EVER EXISTED BEFORE THE COMPLAINT!!!!! They did not exist. They were never sent to me. Not by email. Not by regular mail. Not by text. Not by direct message. Never sent, period. I was never offered the subscription service you claim the charges are for and even if I were, who in their right mind would pay your company $30 a month for literally nothing but "exclusive offers"??? No products, just offers!!!??? Other companies who aren't stealing from people just ask for the permission to send their customers emails or texts with exclusive offers. They don't charge for them and they don't steal from their customers until those same customers notice what's going on. Absolutely disgusting!!!! 

      Now, you would like me to believe that my bank allowed you to take my money, but refuses to let you return it to me? What a load of crap! Maybe you're trying to return money under the name "MODERN *****" instead of "MODERN WISH"??? The fact that their is a difference in the name of the company that you billed me under and the name of the company on these invoices is also suspicious. EVERYTHING ABOUT YOUR COMPANY IS SKETCHY!  

      I suggest you figure out how to refund my money immediately. I'm not letting this go. I see from researching your company that you've stolen from everyone that had the misfortune of ordering a product from you.

      In october of 2022 I ordered an eyebrow stencil kit intially for $14.97 on my credit card; they have since november 2, 2022 to present as of 5/2/2023 they have continuously charged my credit card for $29.97 for a grand total of $209.79. I have reached out to my credit card and file a dispute but they can only go back 60 days; I tried to reach out to the company and cant reach ANYONE! This was charged on my Ulta Rewards Mastercard.
