I am writing to address an issue with the solar system that was installed by The Bang Solar on 08/03/2023. The system was committed to producing ****** kW annually. However, over the past year, it has only produced ***** kW, which is below the expected production rate.As per the performance guarantee on the company website (which I can no longer access), the system should produce at least 98% of the committed rate, which is approximately ***** kW for the first ten years. Given that the system has not met this threshold in its first year, I am concerned about its long-term performance. I believe the system might have been underestimated in terms of the number of panels required to achieve the committed production rate. I tried to contact the company through the email addresses I have, but I received undeliverable messages. and their website also cannot access.Could you please advise on the following:- Am I eligible for reimbursement due to the underproduction?- Alternatively, can additional solar panels be installed to ensure the system meets the guaranteed production rate?- How can I access the warranty that was promised if I have an issue with my solar system in the future?Initial Complaint

They are suppose to trim my Pecan tree at the time of installation, which they tell me now, they did. The tree still covers more than half of the front and back panels. When I call in the afternoon the phone is either busy or no one answers. When I get someone on the phone in the morning, they say they will get back with me, and I never get a call back.Initial Complaint

My name is *********************************, and I am the only living child of ******* and *************************.Both my parents passed away earlier this year. They owned a home in *********, **. My parents signed a contract with Bang Solar LLC Residential PV in June 2023 when they were 85 and 86 years old respectively, and my mother had diagnosed dementia.They knocked on my parents door and gave them false hopes of the benefits of solar with pressure to sign an ambiguous contract that waives all recourse. My parents signed the contract. Since that time, Bang installed SIX solar panels on the north side of their house which do not produce enough electricity and required them to purchase any additional electricity from their company, Chariot Energy.They also put a $40,000 lien on my parents house. In the next few months, we will sell the house. Bang Solar will get $40,000 from my parents estate. These are the types of companies that are preying on the elderly in our communities. I want them to drop the lien. They have not done $40,000 worth of work on the house.Customer response

Thank you for your response, and for truly hearing my complaint. I did make an error on how many panels they installed. It is 26 not six. I apologize for the typo. The cost they are charging for 26 is still grossly inflated.

I have a home warranty for my house. I filed a claim on my cook stove. The warranty company sent some out to check out my stove. The appliance service guy could not find anything wrong with the stove. The complaint was that it keeps tripping the breaker ************************************************* December 2022 by Bang Solar when I purchased solar panels for my house. I have called them and left messages. They did leave me one message but have not replied in the last week and a half. I cannot use my stove because it is a hazard. I would appreciate your help in this matter.Business response

Contracted with Bang Solar to install solar panels on my property. During initial consultation, was told that both an awning and a pool heater would be included in project. To this date (as shown in the attached timeline document) I have still received neither item. This is after repeated attempts by my family to clarify on status of both awning and pool heater with very little return communication from the company. The company attempted to install a manual awning after several conversations that made me believe that I would be receiving an motorized awning. What showed up at the house was not what we were expecting after the many conversation we had with the company. This is due to the questions that I was asked by the company about the size and location of the awning (specifically, I was asked which side the plug is on). To this date, I have also never received an email with information on a solar monitor that was installed into the breaker box of my property. This is after several attempts to ask about this. The monitor was initially installed on Oct 6, 2022. Overall, this business is not clear on communicating with their customers. They are slow to respond, and are not clear on the specifics, even after initial conversations about what would be included. Since this is a small company, we have spoken to the owner and he (Adam *****) is very slow to respond himself.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/12/13) */ After reviewing internal notes regarding this customer and their project, Bang Solar has fulfilled our obligations based on the contract signed by the customer. Awning installation was included in the contract. Our crew went out to install the awning and customers wife stopped our crew from installing and would not allow us to finish the project. Customers claims of a conversation about a plug and which side it was on and getting a motorized awning are false. specifically, our company asked what color awning they'd like to have and which side their drain coming down the side of the house was on so we could properly install. Pool heater was not included in the contract and our management had several conversations with the customer regarding the pool heater not being included. Regarding communications - we have communicated with both customers via email, text message, and phone calls to which we have records to indicate and back this up. resolution - we would like to complete the retractable awning we have already purchased for the customer.Initial Complaint

We had this company install solar panel in March 2021. It was also discuss that they would install 2 propane generators. In Aug 2021 we gave them a check of $8000 that was a grant from the Semper Fi organization that helps disable Vets. They have strung us along and are now not responding to emails. All phone call attempts go to voice mail and we do not get a return call. All we would like at this point is for Bang Solar to return the $8000 and we will get someone else to do the work. We are all on the same page about one thing, we only deal with ***** ******* directly... the entire family is in agreeance. We have emailed several time including a closing of business due to no customer response. 2/25 contact was made by ***** after multiple attempts on our behalf to reach her. We will circle back today and review our previous emails with her again. Customer knows that the $8000 deposit is not the required half down to start their project. Customer received an amazing solar project that is absolutely crushing it and overproducing. Customer could have come to our office and or written letter and or many other options to contact us. Customer immediately responded to our email on 2/25 which we missed that day, but again many attempts were made. We also agreed to larger generators at no additional cost just FYI. We look forward to discussing further with customer and resolving the issues. We have emailed several times including a closing of business due to no customer response. This a false statement. I am *****'s father and Bang Solar has been dealing with me alone most of the time. After the project began all Bang Solar workers as well at Adam dealt with me. 2/25 contact was made by ***** after multiple attempts on our behalf to reach her. We will circle back today and review our previous emails with her again. Attached you will find a number of emails that were sent to members of Bang Solar with some not having been replied to. ***** has tried to call several times and left voice message and never received a call back. Customer knows that the $8000 deposit is not the required half down to start their project. Customer received an amazing solar project that is absolutely crushing it and overproducing. Since Bang Solar had arranged the financing for the first part of this project, we ask for them to provide the same financing option for the generators which they never responding either way on whether that was doable or not. You will also see where they was asking when they could pick up the check but no inform on the rest of the financing. Customer could have come to our office and or written letter and or many other options to contact us. Customer immediately responded to our email on 2/25 which we missed that day, but again many attempts were made. We also agreed to larger generators at no additional cost just FYI. They know that ***** is a Disabled Veteran and does not have much mobility. They also know that ***** is technical suave, and all the technical stuff was left to me. They only agreed to a larger generator after my research found that the one's they wanted to sell us was no longer being sold by the manufacturer. You can from the email attached that conversation. We look forward to discussing further with customer and resolving the issues. As you can see from the email attached to this response, we have made repeated attempt to contact Bang Solar and was told they would call but never did. My husband and I signed a contract with Bang Solar in December 2019. The contract included a solar system with a generator backup. It has been 13 months since we signed our contract and we still do not have a working generator. The owner, graciously pull his personal generator from him house (2010 Generac) and did a very poor install on mine. The unit has never worked, which come to find out, there are many issues with the install per an electrical engineer. Nothing is up to code and this used system needs to be removed immediately. Good thing the generator never worked because this is completely unsafe and could have caused a house fire or other major issues. Although they were able to fix the roof leaks, they have not been able to schedule the install on our generator. When you call their number you will never reach a person. Only a voice mail and hope someone calls you back. I'm a construction project manager and this is not how its done!! This has been very frustrating. We should have done better homework on this company. Adam with Bang Solar has all the details and we just need this resolved. On 1/27/22 they confirmed they have everything needed and just needed to get us on the schedule. For the moment, they have good google reviews so they are taking care of some customers. We were told that we were their first customer, which tells me that is the reason we never found any bad reviews. Finish the job or refund the generator portion of the contract ($7,500) since you have already been paid - my mistake.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/03/16) */ Generator did take longer than expected to receive due to shipping issues which homeowner was aware of. I did take my personal generator to homeowners home, it worked originally and a part malfunctioned later. After replacing with new generator, damage to personal generator was found... to include children shoe prints all over the top, which we assume they stood on it many times to look into kitchen window above. this is currently scheduled to be completed on 3/17/2022. Homeowner is completely incorrect on the facts of installation. Only item found is the flex piping in attic is not to code as it is 3 separate pieces that a master electrician Tim McGregor electrical taped together. Once brought to our attention only two weeks ago we immediately scheduled service and repair. However, it is not dangerous and not a fire hazard. Furthermore the claims of cost are incorrect on all fronts. Homeowner actually only paid approximately $3 ,000 for generator, pad, ATS, and wire run across entire attic to opposite side of property. The attic run alone cost $1,200. The ATS was also damaged which customer demanded replacement, only the cover is dented which will not affect proper function and will not be replaced. We understand their frustration and will have this all completed tomorrow. Silver lining: they relatively paid nothing to have a new generator despite the timing and if homeowner would like the $3,500 refund we will gladly give them that in exchange. Even better, the SOLAR is crushing it and working far better than expectation based on monitoring details. screen capture attached. We will update if needed after tomorrows replacement. As homeowner was told, " We trust our electricians, however we don't micro manage but when a homeowner reveals an issue we will take care of them." Since August of 2021 I have been dealing with this. We had hail damage in February which caused a leak in my roof and after a couple of months passed the roof started to leak. I have solar panels which the roofing company couldn't do their work until they were taken down. I reached out to Bang Solar multiple times with little or no response. After about 6 weeks they finally scheduled me a date and came out to take down the solar panels. I have been frustrated with them on their impromptus of responding back to my emails. I have multiple emails from Adam F**** the CEO, which some I feel are sarcastic in their response. I had the solar panels reinstalled around October 11, 2021 and didn't check them until about a week later to see if they working and they were in fact not running. Solar Bang came back to look at them the following week and informed me there was a part that was not working and needed to order a replacement part for it to be fixed. Since then I have emailed the business and the installer and am getting no where with them in regards to getting the part fixed and back up and running. I had the solar panels installed in September of 2020. My last conversation with Adam F**** was Monday November 1 and he responded that they were working diligently on the issue and not to send him anymore "challenging" emails or phone calls.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/11/05) */ 1. Hail Damage had nothing to do with Bang Solar LLC. 2. Back and forth with roofer delayed the solar removal and replacement 3. Once replaced panels were operational, we were notified that panels were down approx a week prior. 4. Part was ordered immediately after service call. 5. Customer failed to mention the multiple emails prior to and after the NOV 1 email she is referring to. Service team has also emailed her and communicated by phone prior to this clients complaint. The same details were repeated again. Service team informed execs that customer was dissatisfied with the answer, part is ordered and we can do nothing but wait on manufacturer to confirm delivery. 6. Customer has been directly asked "what information is she specifically asking for", no response given. 7. There is nothing else than can be done at this time until manufacturer confirms delivery 8. Customer has a production guarantee and warranty from Bang Solar LLC, any underproduction from the system will result in customer receiving payment at the conclusion of the year. 9. Most importantly, the complaint is libel and defamation at best. Any further attempt to hurt this companies reputation will be handled by our legal team as we are unable to remedy current status for client and public damages are lasting to the company. Naming individuals by first and last name and writing fraudulent complaints for the public to view is a slanderous challenge that will be handled swiftly. 10. Due to the customers actions we will be discontinuing any further service as well reviewing this and likely making a breach of contract determination according to provision 13. of the agreement. Any disputes are required to be handled by TX Arbitration. filing complaint with the BBB which is a non government entity is not arbitration and are seen as an attempt to damage company publicly.
