Failure to complete ceiling damage and fixture reattachment that occurred during roof replacement. During the replacement of my roof, cracks and holes were placed in my ceiling, along with light fixtures becoming loose. Mr. ********************** (owner of High Bar Roofing/Construction) indicated he would address this (via text message with photos I sent as the incidents occurred). He assured me that the repairs would be made, and gave a year's warranty to them. While the repair crew attempted to address the aforementioned concerns, not all cracks were repaired, others are showing through the repair, some light fixtures are still loose and now have hardened ceiling putty on them from the initial repair. Two weeks passed, whereby I did not hear from Mr. **********************. He had assured me he would be by later to inspect the repair and address any concerns, etc. As a result, I sent texts with the pictures, but after 3 weeks I did not receive a response from Mr. **********************. I took a chance on calling and spoke with Mr. **********************, who indicated he would look into it and call me, that was 2 weeks ago and I have not heard from him.

      Hello *****,

You were told you that you have an unpaid invoice that is way past due. You told us you were not going to pay for it, therefore we wouldnt be doing any additional work.

High Bar did in fact send a crew out there to do all of the repairs caused from the roof. You (*****) turned them away. I had to find another crew willing to go out there and we did. We did complete the repairs on the areas caused from the roof. We are not going to do additional work for free as you tried to get us to do numerous times.

The delay on coming back out for anything at all is due to your actions with our contractors. You have made everyone that has been on the property either fill insulted or extremely uncomfortable by your comments and actions. You insulted our roofers by questioning their integrity as well as doing the same to me.

Our crews do not fill conformable on your property and will not be coming back. Again, you still have an unpaid invoice you have refused to pay.

      Have a great day sir.

      Complaint: 20582535

I am rejecting this response because of the many untrue statements from Mr. *********************** The text messages exchanged between he and I indicate that on Friday July 21 message time 6:52 pm he apologizes for the crew not arriving for the ceiling repairs, indicating they will arrive at 9:30 am on Saturday July 22. The next message was on Monday, July 24 at 1:47 pm, where I asked what the plan was to repair my damaged ceiling, where he asked about the crew from Saturday.  I informed him that they did arrive, but indicated that the panels could not be repaired, but would need to be replaced. Mr. ********************** responded indicating that he was told they could do the repairs, but something about framing was mentioned Saturday. I responded again sharing what the repair crew had said on Saturday.  Mr. ********************** responded at 5:52pm indicating that he could have a repair crew over the next day; however I responded that I had to be at work and asked what they would be doing.  He responded at 5:55pm, that they were to patch the sheetrock, I reshared the previous information from the repair crew on Saturday at 6:06pm.  The next response cam from Mr. ********************** at 7:42am on Tuesday July 25, indicating that he had a guy who could head tomy home shortly, asking if there was a way for him to get in. I responded, probably not as I'm at work. Mr. ********************** and the repair crew finally arrived on Saturday, July 29 and began patching/repairing the damaged ceiling. Mr. ********************** had indicated that he would be by to check the repair and verbally indicated a 1 year warranty for it.  During this time, I shared that I would have a check for the $200.00 we verbally agreed upon for the retacking and retrimming of 3 pieces of decorative wood paneling in the living room. At the end of the day, the repair crew left and I never saw or heard from Mr. ***********************  I sent him a text on August 11 and August 18 (with pics showing the work completed and not completed), without receiving a reply. I finally reached him by phone a couple of weeks later and we talked briefly, where he indicated he would get back with me to complete the repair. During the conversation, I reminded him of the check for $200.00.

I take issue with the many false statements Mr. ********************** is indicating. First, I never turned anyone away, when I was home.  Second, I paid the 2 invoices for my roof, that I signed agreement to, totaling $16,342.00, as the roof replacement was concluding and before his crew attempted to repair my ceiling.  An invoice for the paneling retacking/retrimming was not tendered to me from Mr. ********************** prior to the repair, to agree and/or accept as with the other 2 invoices, but when completed was verbally agreed upon for $200.00. This repair was a retacking (restapling) of the paneling, with the replacement of prefabricated trim pieces (4 pieces I think) and using a small saw to trim about a 1/4 inch from one piece, without removing it from the wall, to ensure it secured to the support beams properly. Third, I am unsure about the accusations from his repair crew as I left them to do their work. I am curious, as this is the first time I have heard of any concerns his crew had with me and why he did not return to investigate and/or address them prior to refusing to complete a repair as agreed upon.

As per the text message agreement, made by Mr. **********************, I had expected him to honor his word and complete the repair of my ceiling, resulting from his roofing crew's damage, giving him the final $200.00 owed as well. However, he did not return as indicated (on July 29) to review the ceiling repair crews work and collect it. I have not seen Mr. ********************** since then. Moreover; I am now concerned, based upon Mr. ********************** response, that he may not honor either the warranty for the ceiling or the warranty for the roof, since he is not wanting to come back and complete the repair to the ceiling, that he agreed to do.

      Regards,

      ***********************
