1 starI ordered baseboard for a full house remodel and asked that the items be delivered either before my absence, or after my return. I made this simple request 14 days in advance. The response from ****** on December 4 was that they would notify the distributor, and that a note had been added to my order. This message then appeared to bounce through a few departments and the response that I finally got from ****** (the distributor ?) made it clear that they didn't even bother reading the request. The right hand didn't know what the left was doing. I repeatedly contacted them via email and phone to make sure they would NOT ship and deliver during my absence. The boxes were delivered by ***** the day after I left and placed on the street in front of my driveway, where they remained for 3 weeks, causing the neighbors to complain, getting wet in the rain, risking being stolen or run over by vehicles, and announcing that my house was unoccupied. I contacted this company again several times both via email and telephone to ask that they pick up the boxes and the response was always the same, that they would notify the distributor. When I left voicemail messages, the messages were never returned. When I emailed there was rarely a response and often it seemed that they were completely unaware of the situation. Now I have boxes of baseboard that I'd rather not install since the wood may develop mold and / or become warped since it sat on the rainy winter weather for 3 weeks without plastic protection. The customer service at this company is ********. I would not use them again.Review fromBruce T

1 starThis company does not honor their delivery dates. I ordered an item October 3rd, set to ship 10/31- nothing- then set to ship 11/7- nothing- called 11/8 only to talk to **** who talk over you, have an I dont care attitude and blame it on the warehouse. Called again 11/11- then I am told not set to ship out until 12/16. Its 4 little pieces of wood, rafter tails to be exact. 2.5 months for 4 rafter tails I actually found on ******* that is shipping out in a week. Not recommended, they do not care and do not honor their delivery dates, do not update you. I literally have 3 contractors waiting to complete work after this was supposed to be delivered. The supervisor is never available so dont bother. We shall see if they refund my order, as it is not even in process yet (took a screen shot). Save your time.............Review fromWilliam (Thomas) M

1 starI placed an order for 6 pieces of 8' long backband trim - I received 2 pieces of 4' long base trim...not even close. I have bene dealing with them for about 6 weeks and learned today that my new order will 'probably' ship out around the first of November...this is no way to treat a customer. I will never use them again - nor will I recommend them. We are an architectural and general construction firm and rely on suppliers. If it was possible to give negative stars I would.Review fromDavid H

1 starI would like to file a complaint against architectural depot pertaining to vinyl shutters I ordered. I needed custom sizes and instead of making them to size, they just hack of material from a larger shutter and it looks like c*** Normal shutters have 3 top and bottom rails, the ones we ordered have a 1 top and bottom rail. No where on website did it state they just cut off pieces or show in pictures once size was selected. That is not custom, i call that alrered. We contacted the company who basically said we got what we ordered, but they agreed they dont match other ones we ordered. Then they want us to order a smaller size and still pay for it. So let me spend more money on a product that isnt what we truly needed. Do not ever consider purchasing from them againReview fromChris L

1 starI placed an order for a specialty shudder with this company in November of 2023. At the time of this order, I was told to expect delivery in March of 2024. In late February of 2024 I called to confirm a delivery date. Architectural Depot confirmed that the order was to arrive on March 27, 2024. March 5, 2024, I received e-mail from Architectural Digest cancel my order without any advanced notice. When I called Architectural Depot, they could not explain why the order was cancelled Note: architectural depot is not a manufacturer of anything.Review fromDaniel M

5 starsMy experience with Architectural Depot has always been great. I've purchased 6 or 7 orders from them and they always arrive in a timely manner. I had one order come with a crack in the shutter and they replaced it immediately.Review fromShayne D

Hello ******,My name is **** and I am the customer service manager here at Architectural Depot. You and I had communicated previously in regard to this situation. There are a few moving parts to this review that I did want to address, not to argue but to provide as much transparency as possible. In regard to us not responding, I would like some additional information on what communication was not responded to, as all of the communication I see on our end was responded to. There was an initial request for return on 10/3, which was responded to that same day letting you know that these items were unfortunately not returnable. A review was then left on 10/4, which I personally responded to on 10/5, you responded to that late 10/5, I was out of office 10/6 and responded upon my return 10/9, that is the last communication I am seeing. If there was additional communication that I am not seeing let me know so I can check with our programming team to see if there is a technical issue somewhere. As for the refund, per our conversations the item you ordered are not a stock item and are shipped direct from the manufacturer. Due to that, these materials are unable to be returned, which is listed on our website in a few different locations and is why the item had a **** business day lead time. I apologize that you were unable to use the item, but we are not able to take a return. Our previous offer for a discount on an alternative offer is still valid.Thank you,- KodyReview fromJudy M

If I wished to be charitable with my complaint, the company is quite opaque regarding the disclosure of when an item is "special order and non-returnable"; but I feel that a more accurate statement is that they are outright deceptive in their item listings. I ordered two of an item which turned out to be too large for my project. When I contacted them for a return, only then was I informed that as a special order, my items weren't eligible for return and refund. The customer service rep went on to claim that they "make every effort" to inform and disclose when an item is special order and non-returnable. I was astonished that I'd missed such a vital piece of information when ordering and went back online to review the description. It was only after scrolling down three pages of verbiage that I finally found, in a significantly SMALLER font, the disclaimer. If I was truly making every effort to inform my customers, I believe I'd have that information in LARGE FONT, BOLD, and at the TOP of the listing. Since they don't do that, I disagree that they're "making every effort" and feel that they have room to improve in this area. So, I'm out $300 for two items I can't use and can't return. Needless to say, I won't be a repeat customer.ArchitecturalDepot.com

Hello,Thank you for taking time to submit this review, we do take these things very seriously, and I do want to address it and hopefully provide some clarity. These items ordered are fully made-to-order by the manufacturer. They stock the raw lumber sheets, and when an order is received, they are physically pulling and building these items to the specifications of the order. Due to that, they are considered fully custom and are unable to be returned. As you mentioned that information is listed on the site. We do include it directly underneath the "add to cart" button so that it is noticeable as you are adding the item to your cart. In addition to that disclaimer, if you look at the product details section of the listing it does list it there as well. The listed lead times are also an indication that these are not kept in stock, as they do generally take a few weeks to build.Unfortunately we are unable to do anything in regard to the custom, non-returnable nature of this product, but our previous offer of a partial discount to reorder the correct item for your project will still stand.Thank you,- Kody
