      I purchased a complete bedroom set in April of 2021. All items were on the floor and ready for delivery except for the Magnussen 10 drawer chest that had to be ordered. I was informed of delays due to Covid and told my chest should arrive in July. July came and went. I called the last week of July and was told it would be mid-August. That came and went, I called back. They then said it would be the first of October. This phone call actually got ugly and Mr. ******** made me feel like all of this was my fault as he berated me for questioning their word on the newest delivery date. No calls or information as of the second week in October, so I called again. The newest info given at that time by Mrs. ******** was that it was to be delivered by the manufacturer to the port in California the first week in Nov. It is the week of Thanksgiving now, I called again. Their newest story is that this item is back ordered until late Jan. of 2022. They said I could come pick out a "similar" chest off of their showroom (not even by the same manufacturer, so not a match to my current furniture) or wait until late January. They have not called ME one time during this entire ordeal to let me know what was going on, no calls about all the new delivery dates, nothing. I have had to do all of the follow up just to be told half truths at best. I just want a refund. I want to take my business elsewhere. I've been waiting since APRIL. I want a full refund for the purchase price plus tax which is: $1080.34. I want this MAILED to me as I don't think I should have to drive an hour both ways to receive what I'm owed. This is NOT my first purchase with this store, in fact, we purchased thousands of dollars of furniture when we built our new home in 2014. However, this experience has been a true nightmare. Also, as a side note, while they say they accept credit cards, I was told upon my purchase that I could only pay via check or cash for a purchase this large. How is this ok?

      Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2021/11/23) */ Anytime Peterson's Home Furnishings places a special order for merchandise for a customer, our factory representative gives us information of when the furniture ordered is scheduled to come into port. At that point, it is picked up and driven to the company's warehouse. Then the containers are broken down to deliver to customers all over the United States. We have over 8000 customers in our data base and we do our very best to keep up with each one and their special orders. The only trucks that we can control are our own delivery trucks. Peterson's did mail a refund check to The ********'s today. Peterson's did offer another piece of furniture for her previously and she was in agreement with this, prior to this written BBB complaint that she filed. In offering another piece of furniture to her, we were trying to go over and beyond to help this customer. We hope The ********'s have a Happy Thankgiving knowing that their check is on the way. As far of the side note goes, most consumers have a credit limit on their credit cards for large purchases. All customers that shop at Peterson's are given a choice of using a credit card, writing a check, or paying cash. Information is posted on the front of the office.

      I purchased a sofa from Peterson's Home Furnishings on August 12, 2021. They finally delivered the sofa on August 26, 2021. The delivery men damaged my new sofa. I called Peterson's Home Furnishings to report damage to the sofa. They told me to send pictures of the damage to them. So I emailed them pictures of the damaged sofa. I have not heard anything from them since August 26, 2021. My expectations are they would replace the sofa with a new one with no damage. They ruined my beautiful sofa.

Consumer Response /* (3000, 16, 2021/10/14) */ Peterson's Furniture has not replaced my damaged sofa. This case should not be closed until Peterson's replace this sofa with a new one like they promised. ******* ******** Business Response /* (4000, 18, 2021/10/21) */ Peterson's Home Furnishings delivered a replacement sofa for this customer. It was noted from the delivery drivers that this customer was pleased and happy with merchandise. Consumer Response /* (2000, 20, 2021/10/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I am completely satisfied with the replacement sofa delivered by Peterson's Home Furnishings and accept this proposed resolution. This case can be closed and resolved.
