On March 15, 2022 we went under contract with *******************,owner of AI Drywall & Remodeling for renovations to our house that we just purchased in February 2022.The work was scheduled to be complete by April 8, 2022.We paid $10,000 upfront and another $13,500 by the end of March upon request. The first week work was being done daily but then the crew started to not show up for days/weeks at a time with no communication. When they did show up the quality of work started to decline.**** was contacted and said he would make things right. We were down to 1 worker. He would show up for a day or two and not show the rest of the week.During the month of April another $11,700 was requested.**** started to avoid phone calls and texts and then when resonding said he had manpower or personal issues. At the end of May **** said he would have his whole crew come and have the work done in 2 weeks. When they showed up the next week they removed a wall in the kitchen that was a load bearing wall and created a sink in the 2nd floor causing a door upstairs to not close. They put in a wood beam and then a metal beam which created cracks and displaced tiles in the master shower that they remodeled. After another $5,500 paid and a couple days of dealing with the beam they stopped showing up.After doing research on our own we found out that they should have taken out a permit for the wall and they didnt. We paid a structural engineer $545.74 to inspect and they determined that the beam was not done correctly. We had a contractor look at the cracked tiles in the shower and it was determined the entire shower needed to be replaced because it was not waterproofed correctly, plumbing is not correct and there is not enough support. We are estimated to now pay at least $13,500 to correct the master bath and at least another $24,000 to complete the kitchen.**** was paid $40,700 not including what we purchased out of pocket and there are still numerous jobs not listed that were started but not completed.
