I was involved in a minor fender bender on Friday 10/6. My car didn't incur hardly any damage at all, however, cars now come equipped with a fuel cut off switch (Inertia Switch) when you have a collision. It prevents the car engine from catching on fire. So, I had to have it towed to a Paint and Body shop, that the tow truck driver referred. My insurance company was taking a long time to approve the estimate. So, today 10/11, I stopped by Perfect Touch Paint & Body with my mechanic to see if he could reset the switch. So, I could just pay the Paint & Body shop the towing and storage fees (approx. $450), and I would be on my way. I spoke with the Owner, Luis F***** and he wouldn't allow me mechanic to go back with me to look at my car. Then he said that I would have to pay him before he would release my car. I already had an accident claim number from ***** **** and they agreed to pay the original invoice. However, Luis said, that there was a new invoice for $1857.63. He had not even touched the car, and as you can see on the 2nd invoice, there are fraudulent charges added to the original invoice. First of all, there wasn't a Transfer Tow, $250; Admin Fee, $250; LABOR, $600, Preservation Fee, $250 I told him that these are fraudulent charges, and he responded, that if I got the car repaired at his shop, that he would waive all of the additional charges. When I told him absolutely not, he closed his outside gate and kept myself and my mechanic hostage until I paid the bill. My mechanic got him to open the gate, after about 20 minutes, so he could leave, but Luis told him that I had could not leave. If you look at the reviews online for Perfect Touch Paint & Body, you will find that he has long history of doing this exact same thing to numerous other customers. This is an illegal business practice and he has to be stopped from scamming future innocent customers! Please help me and other victims from being taken advantage from the Scammer!
