Worst van rental experience. AVR should not be allowed to put their vehicles on the road. My entire family could have lost our lives in their 2018 GMC Savana. If this van was thoroughly inspected it would have not been on the road. I'm a local renter who rented a 12 passenger van for 6 days. AVR website didn't specify that local renter mileage is not unlimited or that you have provide a 200 deposit is required to rent. I was told when I arrived. Driving from Houston to Kissimmee Florida, plus other stops along the way, I drove a total 2202 miles. While driving on I-10 the oil change light came on. Stopped to check the oil and it was empty with a drop of dark oil on the stick. Check other fluids which were empty. The truck starting shaking uncontrollably once by the 2nd day of rental. We assumed it was the oil and resume to completing our vacation. On day 5 the shaking worsen. We decided to check the tires and the two front tires were scary. The inner part of both tires were smooth and wires were visible. Looks as if the tire thread was shaved off. Once we drove on I-10 to return home, the van would not go over 50mph with shaking uncontrollably. When returning the van I showed the manager the tires who stated she will put the van in the shop. I asked for a corporate number and wasn't provided one. The manager was helpful in providing an email for a direct manager. I did email them and is awaiting a response. Something needs to be done. This company needs to be inspected for jeopardizing everyone safety. Future renter may not be as lucky as we were.
