I’m writing this because I’m in pain and hurt by my treatment at Jefferson Dental by Dr. Nishita. I went into the office for a check because I had insurance at the time. I was convinced to do a root canal and crown and so I went forward that day with the start of the process. They got x ray and said that I was a good candidate. I went through about 4 hours of a procedure with the doctor going in between me and other patients and finally telling me that I would need to come back for the second part. I was tired and in pain but my tooth was opened and my nerves were exposed so I agreed to come to finish it. I came today early and after about 2.5 to 3 hours I was told that I had a root fracture and couldn’t get my root canal or crown. She said that I needed an extraction and then she could do a bridge instead or refer me to her colleague for a dental implant. As I was sitting there in pain and disbelief I asked why didn’t she tell me this before starting the process. I’ve had to miss work to come here. She said that it probably happened before I came to her and they didn’t know because the x ray that they did was old. I explained to her that it caused me a lot of stress and anxiety to move forward with the procedure but I suffered through and endured because I knew at the end I would have a crown and my tooth would be fine. Now I’m sitting here in pain. I let them know beforehand that my insurance would expire on the 5th of October so I paid for everything and I’m so frustrated. I don’t have insurance, I have a hole in in tooth, and I don’t know what to do. I asked for my refund and not only was I not given a refund they are sending me another bill for almost $300. I want my money back. I feel violated by these neglectful practices. This is causing me a lot of anxiety and stress. I don’t want anyone else to go through this. I still have and open tooth and discomfort that hasn't been resolved. I'm hoping that it doesn't get infected. Please help.
