      They push the app on you so hard that when it was time to renew my plan after 6 years of loyalty, I was given decent rates. To my surprise a month after I selected my new plan for the next 4 years at one rate and a set cancellation fee, I was given a completely different rate and almost twice as high cancellation fee. I contacted their customer service and provided screenshots of the plans THEY offered on THEIR phone app and I was basically told there is nothing they can do about it even with the proof. At one point, I was called a liar by (2) service reps over the phone. After 6 years of loyalty to this company, I am sad to inform I will be taking my business elsewhere. This company is garbage and I will never do business with them again.

      I have never lived in TX, there have been MULTIPLE accounts opened in my name through TX addresses over the years. They need to create better security protocols in order to prevent this from happening to numerous people and ruining their credit. This is the FOURTH FRAUDULENT account opened in my name in under one year and when I call to rectify the situation they need police reports, copies of my current utility bills, and documented statements whereas it was easier for someone to FRAUDULENTLY open an account through IDENTITY THEFT!

      This company repeatedly charges random fees every month. I get paid once a month on the 15th through my school district. My bill is “due” the 13th. Each month I’ve racked up $77.89 in late fees which is more than a credit card company. I have tried to ask for my due date to be shifted two days so it saves me the $77.89 & they were unable to accommodate. With inflation, this seems really awful to do to families. $77 will pay my water bill, it could go toward two nights of dinner for my family, it’s a whole other bill in our household. Shame on discount power. They’re crooks and don’t care to help you. By the way, the “fees” also included a disconnect notice for being 3 days late that is automated and they charge 30 for that. They charge 20 for the disconnect recovery even though no disconnection occurred, the rest were late fees for being 2 days late when a due date shift couldn’t be accommodated from the very start. We’ve had them for four months and I would rather pay the early termination fee of $250 than continue to get robbed monthly by them.

      Another story of this nightmare company buying Energy Texas with no notification, taking over my electrical service without any approval, and their horrible systems and service. No notice of the switch. This company is horrible to deal with during several attempts to understand what occurred with no notifications for any actions they take. Noticed that company response to all other complaints is call them they are here to help. They are not there to help as I have called several times. They are now attempting to take over my electrical service from the competitor provider I switched to get away from this nightmare of a company. Beware!

      This company is a rip off ,I DID NOT CHOOSE THEM THEY BOUGHT MY COMPANY ENERGY TEXAS ,They charged me $107 for 1 day late. These people are scam artist. THEN WHEN I ASK HOW MUCH TO CANCEL THEY TELL ME $500 FOR A COMPANY I DID NOT CHOOSE!!! How do I get stuck with a company this ***** that rips people off!!! They should be shut down

      I received a bill from Discount Power, but I am not even their customer. I use Summer Energy and have no idea why I would get this unauthorized service from Houston for my residence in Denton county. Please help.

      Discount Power is a PREDETOR! If you do not pay your bill by the due date, you will be charged the following: 1. Late Fee - 5% of previous bill 2. Disconnect Notice Fee $20 - system generated for sending you a letter to let you know your bill is past due. 3. Disconnect Recovery $30 - also system generated but the verbal excuse for these charges do not agree with the written Terms of Service which states that "if you do not make a valid payment of the FULL PAST DUE amount BEFORE the date your service is subject to disconnection". I have never had my service disconnected because I always pay before the disconnection is scheduled but I have Always been charged all 3 fees. When you are going through a hardship, Discount Power is set up to make it even harder... they should be sued by all customers who have been subject to these excessive fees! This does not seem legal especially when charges are assessed outside of what is in writing!!!

      Since "Discount Power" has acquired "****** *****," they have assumed the liabilities of "****** *****," thus my complaint below needs to be addressed by Discount Power. On 7 January 2024, I saw I was eligible for a $25 rewards card from "****** *****." They didn't honor their rewards program promise and send it to me. When I requested the rewards card on 7 January 2024, my on-line account showed that it was scheduled to pay out. Because I was coming to the end of my contract, I shopped around and found a better deal at Revolution Energy, so I requested a switch, scheduled for 20 January. I kept watching for the $20 rewards card, and when it didn't arrive, I contacted ****** ***** in April. I was told "Unfortunately, your account closed before the process could complete so the gift card was not issued." What? That wasn't in any of their information! That wasn't a condition of the rewards program! I contacted them again and pointed out that it was 13 days between the rewards request and the end of my contract. They replied, "The decision is final, the gift card will not be issued."

      Last month I received two bills from a collection company from two accounts under my name, I don't live in Texas, never been to Texas! To my surprise, I just received notification of three other accounts under my name (my last name was misspelled in all of them). After the notification of the first two accounts I contacted the collection company as well as Discount Power and was advised to file a police report and an Identity Theft Report which I did, the police report takes over a week to be able to obtain a copy so on February 29th I send them an email as per Discount Power instructions, as I mentioned today I got information that 3 more accounts are in collection under my name. I think it is unacceptable that a big company like this one won't have the level of security to identify that they are opening accounts under the same name and one after the other one goes under collection!!! 5 ACCOUNTS!!! They ruined my credit and I have wasted many valuable hours just trying to resolve an issue that could have been avoided just installing or acquiring better security alerts on the website and in their customer service. Of course, today when contacting them I told them I was going to hire a lawyer if they didn't resolve the situation, talked to 3 different people and they finally told me that my case was processing... after 30 minutes, at the most, of finishing the call, I got someone calling to tell me that it was all resolved and that they will inform the collection company and the credit bureaus that it was a fraudulent case..... Frustration is a complete underestimation. They need to put their things together!!!!!

      This company has continued to send me bills for $500-$700 and I have told them that I live alone, I work 8-10 hrs a day, my thermostat is always on 65 with no other changes. It is so cold in my house that most of the time I walk around with a sweater on or wrapped in a blanket. I sleep with 2 blankets on my bed. So I think that the amount billed is erroneous and I disagree with the amount. They are ripping people off.
