      I spent 8 months trying to explain to the customer service reps for this company that my insurance company has already paid them in full. I've even had a rep from my insurance company call them. Yet they continue trying to collect payment for the whole amount from me and are threatening to send me to collections. They finally stopped trying to collect when I wrote a letter threatening to hire a lawyer and also to contact ********** ******** ********* ****** division of consumer protections (I sent multiple copies of my letter by certified mail to the ER, the physician, and also Degara).

      NEGATIVE STARS. This must be a fraudulent company that has now ruined my credit. I have been harassed and each time I ask for an original bill showing what this is for, I get hung up on. They claimed it was from a physician that bills separately from the hospital, but I have spoken with both the physician and hospital and have been told they would NEVER work with Degara and never have. They have sent this "bill" to multiple debt collectors that also have no information and will hang up when any bill is requested. Extremely frustrated.

      This company is terrible! My insurance company paid them and I accidentally paid them as well and they won't refund my $647.83 after many, many phone calls to them. Every single time I get someone who is difficult to understand. My insurance company has contacted them as well and I still don't have any resolution.

      Unprofessional and fraudulent company. This company sent a medical bill to a collection agency in August of 2022 from a provider visit in Michigan. I have lived in and been a resident of NYC since February 2018. I'm being charged for something I never received. This is a complete scam! Now my credit is being ruined due to gross incompetence and negligence in the billing department. I've disputed this collection three times now and I'm beyond outraged.

      My wife went to the emergency room. Insurance will not pay because the diagnosis on the bill was not accurate. We contacted this company, they said they would put the bill on hold for ten days while they investigated it. The next we heard is that were being turned over to collections. I far as we can tell, insurance was not re-billed with the proper codes.

      Take the one star and subtract 4 and that’s my rating. This is the third time I have had the unfortunate dealing with this group. Each time it has been them claiming I owe a huge amount 8 months after the service has been rendered. I go back to my insurance carrier and get a copy of the check issued to them a couple months after the service. Send them a copy, then they decide it was a mistake on their end perhaps.

      I would give this group a negative if I could! I went to the ER in Fenton and the Doctor from this group really needs to go back to school! No bed side manner-did not listen to me-ordered unnecessary tests and was rude! Hope I don’t run into this doctor again. Sandy E

      I have been trying to settle a credit dispute with this Emergency Room Physician group since 2020. They have receive payment from my insurance company yet continue to say that I owe them for the same service. I have attempted to call them several time with no answer or return call. The sad part is that I work in healthcare and worked side by side with these physicians as a McLaren employee and they continue to not communicate in good faith to get this resolved. I would give this company a 0/10 and feel bad for the other patients that have been taken advantage of and those who cannot advocate for themselves. -Amanda B

      This billing service is extremely inadequate and if the Physicians are paying them to do their collections they definitely are losing a lot if money. The Physician I saw in 8/2021 at the Mclaren ER facility still is not paid as the claim that was sent in was not complete with the adequate diagnosis codes. That message is even on the bill received i from them. I have made numerous calls to them and the other places they refer their unpaid accounts to get this corrected. No one you talk to seems to know what is happening as they all have a different story. My insurance gave me a number to give them to call to get claim paid and they still are not following through with calling them. They participate with my insurance so they are obligated to bill correctly in order to get paid. I am at my wits end to get someone to do what they should do. I have mailed all the information that has transpired in this process to the latest collection agency so maybe someone will finally listen and do what should have been done when the Dr received his first rejection. Thus makes me not want to see any Physician that uses this billing service.

      My husband visited ******* ER in Lansing on 1/27/21. He was briefly treated by a physician assistant and received 2 stitches at the triage desk (never even made past the desk to a room). Insurance paid the claim for the ER visit but this past week (well over a year later) when reviewing our credit reports, we found $981 collection from Degara App PLLC. Further investigation led us to that this was the ******* physician charge. Our insurance was never billed or received a claim for this, and we never had a bill sent to our address. We were there less than 45 minutes and never even saw this physician that billed for this! Why can ******* hospital figure how to properly bill but the physician group can't?!? Our insurance is trying to help figure this out but we just keep getting the run around and now over a year out, we will probably still get stuck with the bill. I am not surprised by the other poor star ratings here and makes me not ever want to visit a ******* facility again.
