November 13, 2014 we were building our house in SouthDakota and purchased materials including fiber cement board siding from *******. The siding was installed November/December of 2014. In June of 2019 we noticed that the siding was cracking, shrinking and gapping. We notified our contractor and ******* of the issue. The material was to have a 50 year warranty. ******* advised that the siding was involved in a pending lawsuit and provided the information to file a claim reference the class action against Plycem Allure siding. We filed the claim in February of 2020 and when the terms of the settlement was approved by the courts in June of 2021 we filed our claim. We actually had to file our documentation 5 different times in differing formats before the Claims Administrator would accept the claim. November 2, 2022 we received a call from the Claims Administrator. The Administrator acknowledged receipt of the 170+ photos and documents of damage but advised the serial numbers on the back of the siding is not that of ****** siding but ********* siding. ********* is not part of the Lawsuit as such our Claim was denied. Reviewing information on ********* we discovered ********* is made by Maxitile and that Maxitile is owned by Elementia from South America. Elementia also is the owner of Plycem that makes ****** siding. Elementia has not returned my calls so far. ******* advised that they are only the distributor and are not responsible for the quality control. That the quality control and liabilty rests with the supplier. Our Insurance Company did send out a Claims Adjuster who did confirm the siding is defective and further that until it is replaced they will not cover any damage to the structure that could be related to the siding.Initial Complaint

My home that isn’t even 5 years old had Allura siding installed on it and now it’s cracking, breaking, shrinking and bowing. I have filled a warranty claim with them that the product is covered under for 50 years and can’t get a response, reply or inspection. There is also a class action lawsuit that was won about the lap siding that was used on my home back in may. I had a company come out to give me an estimate to replace the siding and repaint the home that was 32,120.00. They need to do the right thing and stand behind the defective product. They have many complaints on your website with them not standing behind their product something needs to be done about this! I want to use a contractor of my choice not them.
