    Since October of 2020, the BBB of Greater Houston & South Texas has received numerous complaints and customer reviews on Energy Service Experts that exhibit the following pattern.

     

    According to consumer's disputes, it is being alleged that Energy Service Experts exhibits poor customer service. The consumers of the business have reported that the company does not respond to emails or answer phone calls (consumers are reporting 40+ min wait times and no answer) which led to consumers not being able to discuss, billing discrepancies, refund request for lack of production, production accuracy and duplicate bank withdraws. Other consumers reported that statements are not being mailed monthly resulting in late fees and collection calls. The BBB has forwarded many complaints to the business, most have gone unanswered, but the business did answer a couple complaints with the following statement: We recently underwent a change on our customer service platform, which is still being fixed...

    Hello, in 2016 I signed a contract with Level Solar for solar panels service on the roof of my home. I have paid for this service every month to date without fail, almost 8 years. At some point Level Solar sold the company to another company called ********* and then again sold the company to ****** *****. When I signed the contract with the original company “***** *****” I agreed to pay a $400 fee if I ever needed the company to remove the panels to do repairs on my roof. Well, now I need to do repairs on my roof. I contacted the company to arrange for them to remove the panels and they said they do not do that and I would have to hire a 3rd party company, who charges $11,000 to remove the solar panels. I explained to ****** ***** that I have a contract that says I would have a fee of $400 but they refuse to acknowledge this and say they dont accept this part of the contract. I was never informed that this new company is not accepting ALL the terms of the contract I signed. I also have NEVER signed a new contract with the new company. So either the new company takes my account and my contract or we have NO more contact. When I contact customer service they only email me the same statement about me needing to contact a 3rd party to have the panels removed. No other options or anyone else to contact. The contact does say it is required an arbitration with JAMS so I have given ****** ***** notice that I will file a claim in 2 weeks if they do not remove the panels or contact me with other options. I have not heard back.

    We have been waiting for a new roof installation for over a year. When we were ready to remove the Spruce Power owned panels to begin the roofing project, the roofing contractor had a 3rd part that would remove the panels and re-install. ($250 to Spruce if using a provider they do not have on their list) the remover noticed damage and cracks on 14 of our 21 panels and declined removing so as to not be blamed for the damage. Spruce then sent a contractor out to review, test and examine the panels and found the same issue with damaged panels and low power generation. They reported this to Spruce Power and after multiple calls to their customer service line we received notification that our issue was being reviewed for Warranty replacement. After multiple months I called back and found that the Warranty replacement timeline is 6-12 months. During this time we could have easily had our roof replacement completed. This company has been a nightmare since they took over for Killowatt Systems and many issues with Billing and support. Very bad and hoping this fly by night company will be exposed.
