Bills for services not provided & refuses to repair equipment 1. Issues began with Spruce 10/2018 a. Invoices were not received in a timely manner, numerous requests had to be made to get statements so they could be paid. b. Was charged late fees due to Spruce not submitting bills on time and I had to phone Spruce on several occasions to get those fees removed. c. Recognized fraudulent billings after preparing to move to residence in 01/2023, this is when I stopped paying Spruce invoices 2. Not abiding by contract a. Billing since inception of taking over contract in May 2018 has not been justified with actual start and end production information b. Has refused to provide accurate data as requested numerous times & conduct a reconciliation i. Has committed to sending data, then defaulted ii. Was told data was available on line, and it wasn’t iii. In May 2024 committed to sending data in 6-8 weeks and nothing received iv. Refuses to conduct a financial reconciliation & adjust billing up or down accordingly c. In (at least) April and July 2021 sent out repair personnel because inverter was not working, so Spruce knew there was an issue with their system d. Admitted in June 2023 that system had been offline and was working with manufacture to obtain parts i. System was not repaired until July 2024 ii. In July 2024 stated that they didn’t have to abide by contract with regarding to manual meter reading when system not submitting data online. e. Has submitted late payment information to credit bureau damaging my credit because I won’t pay fraudulent billings as an attempt to harass me into making payments rather than working with me to solve the metering issueReview from Leslee M

Imagine paying thousands of dollars to lease a solar system. You have paid upfront and owe nothing. You have a warranty stating that any defect in, or breakdown of, materials or components will be promptly repaired. The unit (inverter), which runs the system has a fan failure. You call the company. Two months later, (after multiple follow up calls and emails), a technician comes to evaluate the problem. He notifies the company of the fan failure. The company then tells you there is a “world wide shortage” of the part needed to fix the system. But according to the manufacturer you can purchase an upgraded inverter since the exact component you have now is not available. You relay this information to your lease company and they reply that they will look into “alternative options.” The following nine months you write letters, emails, and place phone calls to the company and each time they say they are looking at “options.” Month after month after month you wait. (Under the lease agreement only the company may repair or replace the inverter). I will NEVER purchase another lease of any kind and obviously I do not recommend this company.Review from David O

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. All I needed is a buyout or purchase amount. I was sent to "asset recovery". They won't issue a buyout amount until a payment was made. My account is current and I DO NOT have a past due amount. My account is always electronically debited by SPRUCE! They do NOT want you to be able to get out of your contract and will make it as difficult as possible.Review from Michael R

As with all other reviews in this site, I did not choose them as a company, they took over for a previous provider. They acknowledge that my hardware is bad but have been dragging their feet for months. The customer service is horribleReview from Genevieve A

The absolute worst company ever!! Our solar keeps tripping! I can’t tell you how many times we have called! I’m worried now , we live in NJ and experiencing a heat wave! My husband was a lineman and he said this can cause a fire!! Our house backs up to a vast wooded area! Not only did we pay 250.00 for solar we had to pay the electric company 275.00 for a 1000 square foot house!! I’m looking for a lawyer!!Review from Sandra s

SPRUCE POWER IS BY FAR THE WORST SOLAR COMPANY IN THE WORLD. I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING WITH THEM FOR CLOSE TO A YEAR AND THEIR CUISTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. THE TOOK OVER THE CO0MPANY I BOUGHT MY SOLAR PANEL FROM. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PEOP[LE OUT TO CHECK THEM AND IT WAS SAID TO BE AN INVERTER. THEYT REPLACE THE INVERTER AND THEY ARE STILL DOWN. I AM SO FRUSTATED WITH THIS COMPANY AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THEY ARE GOING TO P[AY MY ELECTRIC BILL BECAUSE MY PANELS ARE NOT WORKING. I THINK THWY ARE DRAGGING THEIR FEET UNTIL MY WARRANTY IS OUT. I OWN MY PANELS BUT I DONT THINK THAT MATTERS TO THEM. I CALL ALMOSTY EVERY DAY AND GET THE SAME RUN AROUND IT IS A PROCESS THAT THEY HAVE TO GO THRU. AS OF TODAY I AM WAITING FOR THEM TO DO A TEAR OFF TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.Review from Nicole B

Worst company to ever exist. We are only working with them as our original solar owners went bankrupt. I did not choose them, and wouldn’t offer them to my worst enemy. Their customer service is a -10. Possibly a -100. They show I have 8 missed payments. I ask for proof, since i have their THANK YOU FOR YOUR PAYMENT email, and shocker, no one knows why it shows missed payments. No one can help me understand why they reported it to my credit, no one can help me figure out why i have random missed amounts. Not the amount due, but random fees. No one can show me anything, no one can understand on their end so how can I understand. It is mind blowing to me how awful this company is. Not one single good employee.Review from Steve `

I spoke to an Alejandra C in the asset recovery dept regarding a late from a year ago. She took the time to research the issue and see that the billing dept had just switched software and that I was on auto payment so it definitely wasnt my fault. There are all kinds of issues with customer service these days and it was very impressive to hear all this. They did a great job! Thank you guys!Review from Cheryl S

Spruce Power had gotten better about their billing and customer service. But I just made a call to a rep. (Mr. Michael) who was talking above me and wouldn't let me explain why I had questions on my latest bill. I asked for his supervisor and he told me he would tell me the same thing. He kept talking above me and when I said transfer me to a supervisor. He said that is what he wanted to do in the first place. Unbelievable. I so regret dealing with these unprofessional people that don't want to listen to you. I am selling my house and I feel for anybody who deals with this company. I wish I could give them a zero
