I signed a contract for solar panels for my special metal roof May 8, 2022, with Connected Solar. The company has not provided the services come due to questions on how to attach to my roof. The person I signed with knew how to put them on the roof but, he is no longer with the company(but was so slow). The original owners came back in over the company, and they did not even know my order existed until I emailed asking what was taking so long. Plus, they did not know how to put the panels on my type of metal roof. They keep asking me to scrap my new metal roof and go with Tesla shingles. I just paid 30K for the metal roof in April 2022. They are not reasonable, and they have wasted so much time. Connected Solar has no references for putting panels on my type of metal roof. I just want my money back. The owner emailed around 10/13/22 stating he would wirer my money, as of today I still do not have my money. My down payment is 15,455.20. Connected Solar has not even submitted a CenterPoint DER or Tariff Application for me to sign to go solar. I will be forced to go to court if they do not give me my money back. I do not trust them to put panels on my home they will ruin my 50-year warranty for my metal roof which is transferable. ThanksBusiness response

In response to the complaint from Dorellyn ***:
After signing the contract with Connected Solar and materials for her job were ordered; Dorellyn decided that she did not want to install solar on her new roof so we provided her with other options such as a pergola.
The statement that Connected Solar does not have the expertise to install solar on her roof is false.
Connected Solar has agreed to disregard its rights in the agreement with Dorellyn and refund the payment in a timely manner.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
This company cannot be trusted, and I do not trust this company therefore I would like my down payment back. If Connected solar could do the work why was the work not done. Why did Mr. ****** send an email asking for wiring instructions to return my money and then turn around to try to fit in a pergola? (emails) He told me the pergola would cost as much as the roof because he had to make his 25 %. This company has problems and I would just like to move on with my refund and without solar panels. I signed the contract in May and the work was not done in June, July, August, September. My email from Robert ****** requesting my wiring information was in October, still no work done, He admits in the email that he could not do the work. He may have hired someone by now, but I am not interested in doing business with him. I respectfully decline to do work with someone who tells me to scrap my new metal roof for 30K and let him put on Tesla Shingles, which would not be approved by my HOA. He does not have experience with my type of metal roof and would void my warranty. I do not want to do business with Connected Solar and would like my money back. By phone in November Mr. ****** told me he would give me my money back but he did not know when. ???Respectfully,
Regards

We always put the customer first which is the reason that we have agreed to make a refund the customer in spite of the fact that we have a legally binding agreement that states otherwise. The customer claims are inaccurate and not fair to the employees of Connected Solar.Customer response

Regards,
Connected Solar, Robert ****** has stated that he would pay my money back in a" timely manner". Define timely manner, it is too broad. He has breached his own contract. You have proof with the emails I sent. In October he asked for wiring instructions to return the money.
I still do not have my $ 15,455.20 and I do not know when he will pay.
Thanks

As stated in the previous correspondence; Connected Solar is known for putting its customers first and will agree to allow the customer to back out of the contract that was signed (subject to a written agreement to be prepared by a licensed attorney).
