I didn’t know all this solar stuff but I decided to try solar panels with Starlight Solar. The young man who came to explain it all was very nice. He showed me how it could lower my bills, and honestly, that’s all I needed to know. They installed the panels on my roof last year some time around December. I don’t understand much about how it works but my electricity bills have gone down like he said they would. I’m happy I went with them.

The Salesman/owner has visited me more times than the installer or repairs people! I have begun to wonder if this business is nothing more than a website, mobile phone number, and maybe three employees as office staff? For example, for the installation everything (solar panel parts, and installation labor) is contracted out and drop shipped. When I contacted the salesman/owner while having issues with battery back up ) he informed me that my service contract was with someone else and that I had signed documentation to that effect. That is pretty much his answer to every problem and my system hasn’t worked for over a year. The owner basically insinuated that I was warned about battery back up systems. In reality, they are no employees hired to provide service work, so after the owner//salesman ran off the original installer after three weeks, he now tells me my globally recognized manufacturer has a lot of problems with their systems. It doesn’t take much to guess that if a system is installed improperly, it probably won’t work and will be blamed on the manufacturer. The owner promises to remedy the situation, and then never performs! Do business with these people and you will be dissatisfied! I continue to wait after a year and a half to get a simple service call!

We are really happy with our choice choosing a local installer like Starlight Solar. We’ve had a lot of friends who used brokers and it seems to be hit or miss if the experience was good, but all of them or give them 25 year manufactures warranty by the brokers. If those companies go out of business, those warranties disappear. Starlight Solar offered a 30 year transferable warranty with zero cost or deductibles, and it included GAP insurance our realtor said was really important to the appraisers when selling our house. I think the thing we appreciated most was the honesty and transparency we received. In fact, we found Starlight Solar because the neighbor across the street recommended them when they were honest about their roof, not being an ideal candidate for solar due to the minimal amount of sun exposure. That felt like a good sign. They were going to care about doing a good project and we were right there were some hiccups dealing with centerpoint delays getting things installed, but we were told that when we signed up. Once permits were in the install went fast and they did a great job. Everyone was friendly, and everybody was cleaning up behind themselves, which we appreciated. So far, our panels have produced exactly as expected, and would definitely recommend Starlight Solar to anyone wanting m to get a straight deal.

We are very happy with our solar installation, our utility bills kept increasing and we decided to go solar and I to not only save money but convert what we were spending on utilities into an equity payment for a home. This is one of the reasons we went with StarLight Solar, we met with around 3 companies our sales rep Colby was head and shoulders above the rest, not only in knowledge about the system but how solar integrates into your life beyond just do utility bill. Working directly with an installer like StarLight Solar got us a transferable 30 year warranty with zero deductible, covered our parts and labor, it had GAP insurance in case the manufacturers go out of business and that was important to us. But it also uniquely had a transferable warranty that none of the other companies offered and that was important for when we resell our home. Colby walked us through addendum’s appraisers used to add value for solar to homes And showed us how that 30 year transferable warranty was critical as well as making sure the lender we chose for the solar loan included a fixture filing. None of the other companies even mentioned that appraisers Require this to add value to the home according to ****** *** conventional loan standards which Colby took the time to pull up. The other thing that I was like was he wasn’t over promising anything. In fact he talked us down to a little bit smaller of a system then what other companies were telling us and we initially asked him for. It’s been about a year now that we’ve had solar and it’s been extremely accurate with his predictions. We get credits in the winter time, and then we use those during the summer time and we are saving money. The installation went as smooth as could be expected, they communicated with us at different stages and we’re always available anytime we called for an update. I highly recommend the company and I’ve already recommended to co-workers and family members.

This company has been nothing but issues from the beginning. We were so excited after our salesman was out and we had three people lined up for recommendations but we were waiting to see how install went before we recommended any friends or family and I am so glad we waited. Between the missing parts, panels not working after being installed for weeks, a leak in my brand new homes roof from installers (it has been almost a week and still not fixed), SO MUCH misinformation (we were told we would get a little tablet that showed our panel production - not true, we were told the company handled switching over our electric plan - not true both of which were huge selling points for us) calls that don’t get returned, installers/techs not showing and not calling - It’s extremely frustrating and I will never recommend this company. If you’re looking for a solar panel company I would look for a more professional and efficient company. The list of errors is honestly getting ridiculous.I hope they get this all corrected. I never complain about companies but it’s astonishing just how horrible this experience has been.
