This company came to my place of living under false pretenses, claiming they were with my energy company Consumers Energy and were here to adjust my energy rate. They lied about it all. I fell for the scam and apparently this continues to happen to others. They were able to see my personal energy bill and statement and it’s not clear as to what they were actually doing and or did with my information. I’m concerned that they now have private information and could possibly cause harm or more fraud against me or in my name.Initial Complaint

On Dec 15 we were approached by who we thought was a consumers energy representative. Misrepresented himself and got us to sign up for Symmetry Energy. We have been trying to cancel the enrollment but cannot get a hold of the company. No one answers phone and email address is non existent. Please advise us as to how we can cancel. He gave us a ************ ****** ********Customer response

We received a letter from Symmetry Energy Solutions dated August 5th welcoming us a new customer with account ********* (which is our ***** Energy account number, by the way). It included a "contract" with no signature but "Signature on File" typed in the signature line. I called the 800 number on the letter - 1-888-200-3788 and spoke with a customer service representative (Cecelia) who told me that we had signed up to change service. When I told her we hadn't, she said that she couldn't help me because it was a large commercial account and that the change had been through a broker. We only rent a small business condominium and our average bill is around $20.00 per month. We are not a large corporation and we do not have any type of energy "broker". I believe this is a scam and we absolutely did not sign anything asking for our natural gas service to be switched. Neither ***** Energy (our current provider) nor Symmetry has been able to provide any signed documents to prove that a switch was initiated by myself or anyone else at our company.
