*** ****** **** *** ****** and are more interested in profit than your pet. They will try and use emotional blackmail to get an exorbitant amount from you for a guess at a diagnosis or treatment, that may not work. When you have no more money, they will throw your pet out of the door with no continuity of care. An exceptionally rude supposed veterinarian called me while I was at work. I believe she said her name was ********* Anyway, she said that an MRI they supposedly did revealed a herniated diaphragm. That my pet needed surgery and that they would like to do a neurological work up on my pet also. She stated that the procedures would be $7500 and $3500. I had just spent $5000 on everything else up to this point on a $6000 limit credit card. As soon as I told the lady that I couldn't get that much right away, she turned into a vile rude snake. So I was trying to reason with her about how I could get that amount in two months or so. *** **** **** ***** **** ********** "I guess you’re coming to pick her up then?" Anyways, when we came to pick her up, the staff basically handed me her crate and just stood there. I was like, "are there any discharge instructions??" There was no medication, no prescription, no instructions on a receipt, only a sentence where they complained that I didn't have any more money to do a surgery that the pet allegedly needed. Well, a week goes by, I was to see my regular vet the next day, but during the night my pet has another episode, worse than the last. She died. When my vet (she was on vacation, other wise I would not have went to Gulf Coast Vets of Hell) read through my pets case from this horrendous facility, she was appalled at the "do nothing" care she received. She said that $7500 for a diaphragmatic hernia surgery and the $3500 for a neurological exam was both extremely over the top and that the pet needed clot busting medication as a minimum treatment until the surgery could take place, if she even needed surgery.

I'll spare the obvious foundational reality of going to the vet, and that pets are family, and there is a certain expectation of common decency towards life that most decent people would have. In the interest of writing a short novel instead of a 5 chapter book, the following events are summarized and paraphrased for what is a hopefully somewhat efficient read to anyone who is in the panicking situation where your pet is in trouble, and you're taking the time to research who handles the life you're responsible for and bonded with as the pet relationship often is. It's a very important thing. It's something that requires trust, and is very crucial to have a good relationship. It is my true belief that Gulf Coast Veterinary Services, and name on the invoice, Dr. ******** ******, genuinely do not care about the people, or animals that come into their facility beyond a financial transactional relationship. I ended up going to ********* Animal Clinic and my cat was given some laxatives, lots of pets, and on his way in about 20-30 minutes, and was feeling better within 2-3 hours. The time I spent invested in Gulf Coast Veterinary Services based on my call logs, was an initial call at 10:57AM, and a payment made for literally no beneficial services to my cat, at 1:59PM. Initially I was quoted one thing, but when I departed there were fees including the most laughable, a $32 charge for a pee pad because my cat urinated in the kennel on the pee pad (I'll get to that later). If you'd like more detail, set aside 5-10 minutes and read about it on Yelp due to the character limit here. At the end of the day, Dr. Carolina Garcia genuinely didn't care about me, or my cat. They knew he'd be okay, and turned it into revenue generation, nothing more. Disgusting. https://www.********************************************************************************************************************************************************************

The pharmacy is terrible and has waited over 20 minutes and no one pick up the phone. You cannot reach the vet to get the prescription and has to go through the pharmacy in order to get the medication outside the hospital. My dog needs antibiotic after surgery but no one seems care.

If I could give a zero I would. We had an appt with internal medicine at 10am for our 8 yrs old yorkie who was diagnosed with PLE. The morning of the appointment, she began having seizures that left her with symptoms of a possible stroke. We took her into the ER and was put on the fast track because of the multiple seizures in a 24 hour period. Was asked to put down $1500 to begin treatment which I completely understood. Within 45 min we had an estimate of treatment that ranged from $5K-$8K (which did not include any neurology or internal medicine treatments) We decided at 820am that we were not going to move forward with treatment and we would be requesting euthanization. It was an extremely difficult decision, but we told the nurse we wouldnt be moving forward and she left to tell the doctor. At 9:50am the doctor told us to keep our internal med appt at 10 because maybe she would have a different treatment plan. We went to the front desk to check in just to find out that her appt was cancelled when we checked into the ER and they had no availability so we went back to the waiting room and waited. Someone finally came to tell us that the estimate the ER gave us was accurate because those same tests would be ordered by internal medicine and justifying the cost. We said AGAIN, we do not want treatment we wanted to take our baby home. We were then put in a room where we waited for another couple of hours . We finally got to say goodbye to her about 2 pm (5.5 hours after we told them our decision) . I understand about how ERs work and we were no longer priority after 8:30 but not sure when compassion went out the door and it became all about the money. We were devastated enough to have to make the decision and unable to begin the grieving process because being pushed off and left in waiting rooms is completely unacceptable.

We are so sorry for the loss of your sweet loved one. We understand how difficult it can be to make the selfless decision to say goodbye. The appointment with internal medicine was canceled due to the immediate concern regarding the seizures. The front desk receptionist informed you that this would be addressed with the emergency service and that the appointment for internal medicine would be canceled. When I spoke with you in the lobby regarding your concerns, you informed me that you would not proceed with treatments. Still, I was also told that further clarification regarding the estimate was needed. I clarified that the estimate provided to you included diagnostics that the internal medicine department would also want to perform, including a consult for both internal medicine and neurology. This also included a deposit for those services to perform a full workup. Once clarified that the estimate was in fact accurate, you informed me that you would not be proceeding and that you wished to say goodbye. We respect your decisions and understand that it is a difficult one to make however we did want to ensure that you had the clarification surrounding the estimate so you could ultimately make the best decision for your family. We have the utmost compassion for our pet parents and patients, but we are obligated to be fully transparent about the costs associated with treating our patients. Emergency services, unfortunately, have to triage patients according to the severity of their condition; therefore, it is not uncommon to have to wait an extended time. We do apologize for the perception that you were no longer a priority, and again we would like to offer our deepest condolences surrounding the loss of your beloved pet.

I was referred to Gulf Coast for my 6 year old border collie as he had a chronic limp. They found not use x-rays I provided so did new X-rays, new exam, ultra sound all at very high prices. They determined he needed steroid injection again quite expensive, this helped for 10 days. They cancelled first follow up, let me drive over an hour for second follow up only to cancel, then informed me they were closing the department and we would need to go somewhere else. I am now out thousands of dollars and my pet is no better, but they had no sympathy for him and just didn’t care!

My dog Jade was diagnosed with an enlarged heart on Friday, 3/17 at *** ****** ********* *** could not diagnose the specific cause of the enlarged heart due to lack of imaging equipment. I was referred to GCVS. They did not have any appointments for Friday, I scheduled for Monday, 3/20. Late Friday I received a phone call from the GCVS radiologist's assistant stating the doctor looked at Jade's images and recommended we bring her to the ER and get in over the weekend. Jade has addison's disease, any stressful situation can cause a flair up and she was already showing signs of elevated stress. I did not want to leave her in an ER overnight and declined. The receptionist said I could being her in first thing in the morning. I said I would talk to my husband and see what he says. At no point did I consent to a cancelation of Jade's Monday appointment. Jades veterinarian prescribed her a diaretic to rid her body of the excess fluid in her abdomen and chest. She was extremely bloated and having difficulty breathing on Friday, but Saturday morning she looked visibly less bloated and was breathing normally. I took Jade to her vet to get her weight to see how much fluid she had lost. She was 70.5 lbs 9am on Friday and 66.4 lbs 8am Saturday. Based on that and the desire to minimize Jades stress levels I did not take her to the ER because I had a scheduled imaging appointment on Monday. I take Jade to GCVS at the scheduled drop off time to find the cardiologist canceled her appointment without my consent nor with any written notification. I was told I may have to reschedule for Tuesday, even though their cardiologist 1) canceled without my consent and 2) their cardiologist is the one that said an image was extremely needed so why would they defer another day? It seems to me they are more interested in making more money out of my dog through an ER visit and giving away her scheduled appointment to someone else. They don't seem overly concerned with treating Jade.

Hello, I believe that there may be some confusion regarding your appointments. Our cardiology department is currently booked out a couple of months; therefore, your appointment was scheduled with our diagnostic imaging department for outpatient imaging with the radiology team. Due to your pet's condition, our concerned technicians and radiologist felt it would be best for your pet to be seen immediately through our emergency department rather than wait until that Monday morning as imaging would have been performed at that visit; therefore, the appointment was canceled. We do not need written consent to cancel an appointment. Due to the understanding that Jade would be seen through our emergency department, the technician felt comfortable canceling the appointment. I do apologize for any confusion surrounding this visit and can understand the frustration; however, please understand that our team truly does and did care about Jade.

Angelica B. I’ll like t begin by telling you I’m new to Houston, I relocated from Cooper City, FL. On 3/7/2022 I was at my son’s apartment 10:30pm my sweet Jasmine started having difficulty breathing & walking. I located what I assumed was a 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital(GCVS) that was supposedly close to my son’s apartment well I arrived at the facility around 11:00pm in tears with my Jasmine in her bed in distress, to be told by the young lady at the desk,(unfortunately I didn’t get her name) (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) that this was a private hospital and they were not taking any new patients. I explained to her that their sign said 24/7 emergency care. Well she told me I’m sorry there is another facility a few miles down the road. I explained to her that I was new to the area and had no idea where I was going…she just handed me the paper and that was that. I left with my little girl and tried to find this new place needless to say my Jasmine DIED while I was trying to find my way.??????WELCOME TO TEXAS!!I know nothing about this place so I had no idea what their reputation was it appeared to be a place that cared about people and their pets. It was also the closest 24/7 emergency facility that came up in Google. I would have paid anything instead they just sent me on my way with no regards to my Jasmine. I have no idea what happened. We had just been to the vet the day before and she was fine. If we were home ( I live in Rosharon, TX) I would have taken her to her regular vet, but we were over 1hr away and google said this facility was only 5miles away. I hope that the next person that shows up to GCVS in distress the way I was with Jasmine gets better treatment than what we received!! I give your facility and ESPECIALLY YOUR STAFF A BIG “F” IN COMPASSION FOR MY SWEET GIRL!! On Friday morning I took my girl to her regular vet where they took care of her and provided me with a beautiful memorial and a keepsake of my sweet girl. RIHP Baby Girl!!??????

GCVS, someone by the name of Christine, (you did not leave a lat name.) reach out and I returned your call the very next day. I left a message for you and I am still waiting for a call back. Like I stated in my original review. Your facility had no regards for my Jasmine or me and you continue to display your total DISREGARD & DISRESPECT for us. I continue to see your facility and your staff with TOTAL DISGUST!!

My 3month old standard poodle was hit by a car. I brought her to this place and immediately was quoted a fee of $1200.I think they are over priced and didn’t even examine her.We weren’t in the bldg 5mins before we were quoted the outrageous bill!! I refused the service and took my baby to ******* **t clinic. My puppy had two X-rays n a prescription for pain.We were billed $275.00.I made a smart choice by choosing another place n not being taken by Gulf Coast. They are over priced and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.We were talked down to like we couldn’t afford it and .Judging clients isn’t good for business. I will NEVER bring my pets to this place.Because it’s all about the dollars with them!!zero stars if I could
