    Back in October 2021, I decided to get the windows in my house redone. Windows were on back order, so installation didn't happen until April of 2022. I understood, at this time the world was on back order and that was fine. Windows were installed, I believed everything was fine, until I tried to renew my home owner's insurance. My agent asked me if I had, had any work done on my house, and I said yes, I had all my window's replaced. I live in Brazoria County, so everything has to be windstorm approved. As I went to get my insurance renewed, my agent lets me know that the window company hasn't filed the windstorm certificate. I call Renaissance and I was told, (which they now deny) that the inspector didn't file the report. When the inspector came today, he told me that they had come back in April, but the job was already complete (they were suppose to be called before the job started, so they could see all the supplies.) He also told me at that time, that they noticed that the wrong screws had been used. So the inspection failed. When I called Renaissance in January2023, I was never told the inspection failed, just that the inspector hadn't filed the report, which is true, because it DIDN'T PASS!! So jump to today, a man from Renaissance shows up before the inspector and notices that the screws are wrong. He starts fixing them, but the inspector shows up and again, won't pass it, because he has only completed one of the 12 windows. 1. Renaissance should have known they were using the wrong screws since they are selling windows that have to pass Texas Windstorm Inspection 2. If it is true that they don't receive the report (which I find highly unlikely) they should reach out the engineer and make sure everything has passed. 3. You should be able to trust that it is done correctly and you as the customer, shouldn't have to do all the running around making sure everything is filed and done correctly.
