Customer Service needs to improve. The Doula agreed to refund our deposit but ultimately failed to do so. She agreed to refund it via voicemail & through email. She missed her own deadline to refund the money and accused us of harassing her because we asked questions and followed up with her when she stopped responding. She does not have a written refund policy and no services were rendered (i.e. did not provide childbirth education, did not provide lactation consulting, did not provide labor and delivery support, did not provide post-partum care). My wife and I decided to terminate her services because: 1) We were not confident in her ability to advocate for us during labor and delivery. She did not take the time to get to know us well enough to complete this. During consultation or when clarifying the invoice, she would be doing something else, rather than focusing on providing good customer service (i.e. gossip, fowl language, distracted). 2) Confusion about the price, we asked specific questions and she could not provide a clear answer. Her website says services are $2,000 per hour, but that is the cost of the total package. The invoice was revised multiple times and was ultimately still incomplete because the final invoice did not list our name, the date, or due date. She referenced that financial assistance was available for $800 but when asked where this would come from - she could not provide an answer (we genuinely just wanted to thank this 'sponsor' for providing assistance to us). 3) Training materials provided to us were not her original material or programs - they were printed from another doulas website or taken from a hospital.
