After interviewing several contractors and upon providing a full set of plans and engineering with several site visits, we contracted with Amazed Construction Services to remodel our forever home in December 2022. We thought to make an informed choice as Mr. ******* boasted about experience, quality work, cleanliness, having the best in house crews, subs, transparency, financial accountability, etc.. Although we were not in a time crunch a time frame of 3 months was provided. The contract outlined, the schedule of draws. Additionally, we were provided addendums for those items outside the contract which were expected. The job began rather quickly with the demo draw although his "top notch team" was a van load of children and adults with no work tools, too that left the job incomplete and literally no work for weeks to have his foremans sporadic work schedule from 11am-3pm with a one hour lunch twice a week to finish demo. "The best framers" (man and wife) came in unsupervised, but of course all wrong. The ****** wasn't paid and subsequently walks to the neighbor wanting my telephone number demanding payment or a lien being put on our home. Mr. ******* went through several plumbing subs, electrical subs, sheetrock subs before skipping out leaving them also unpaid, but not before he demanded a materials draw which had not been applied to any materials. He completed addendum work and demanded another draw and but one week after, you guessed it Amazed Constriction walked the job In September 2023. At this point we were ok with that as long as he provided ******************** which he refused to do and has been non responsive not only to us but our attorney. We later learned Amazed Construction did something similar to another client in July of 2022 and have been in contact with them also. This is a substantial amount of money.

      Business response

Please refer to section 30 of the home improvement contract that was signed and executed by both Amazed Construction Service and ******************* on 12/30/2022. The signed contract is attached to this response.

      "30. Arbitration of Disputes
Any controversy that develops between Contractor and Owner with regard to matters arising out of, or relating to, this Contract, and that the parties do not promptly resolve, shall be decided by arbitration administered by and in accordance with the Construction Industry Arbitration Rules of the ******************************** unless the parties agree otherwise in writing. This Paragraph shall be specifically enforceable under the prevailing arbitration law. The award rendered by the arbitrators shall be final, and judgment may be entered on it in any court of competent jurisdiction."

Amazed Construction Service will adhere to this process as the Arbitration clause is how we will handle any disputes. The BBB can provide a source for arbitration. We will be willing to discuss all issues at hand and provide documentation and explanation about the complaints against Amazed Construction Service by ******************* provided both parties submit to arbitration. We will also be talking to the arbitrator about payment of trades, slander and requests to engage in fraudulent activities.

I am rejecting this response because: While I understand about the Arbitration clause, that is not the focus of this complaint. Amazed Construction refuses to provide financial documentation of monies received, receipts and what it has been applied to. We have asked repeatedly as well as our attorney. He simply does not respond. He has a fiduciary and contractual duty to his clients to provide that information yet he fails to do so. In addition, with the monies he received, he left us with an empty house with substandard painting, sheetrock, framing and electrical. We had NOTHING else in our house not even one plank of flooring, even though he was paid upfront for these materials.

      Regards,

      *******************
